July 12, 2010 (CAP News Wire) – Between July and November, when the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event takes a break in anticipation of the Final Table, the poker world will be shifting its focus to London, where a huge variety of poker events will be held.
“The capital will be hosting the largest selection of poker events ever staged on this side of the Atlantic,” writes Bluff Europe.
Starting with the kickoff of the first World Poker Tour (WPT) London Classic on August 28, London will then host a trio of huge poker tournaments, including Poker in the Park (September 2-3), the English Poker Open (September 10-14) and the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) (September 14-28), taking the poker festivities through to the second half of September.
“This trio of top class tournament series will boast a prize pool of a whopping £9m,” Bluff adds.
Organized to maximize the value and attendance of these three events, the London Poker also plans on featuring smaller buy in events throughout about a dozen London-based poker rooms.
