Less than a month after paying out its last big progressive jackpot prize, online slots and video poker pioneer Slotland.com has announced that one lucky player has won over $80,000 playing its Slotris game.
Slotland.com revealed that a player known as ‘MARMOTLUV' has won $80,369 playing the Tetris-like online slot machine, which is only one of 16 titles that contribute to the online slots site's jackpot pool.
"I used to love playing Tetris as a kid so I've enjoyed playing Slotris ever since it was added at Slotland.com," said the winner.
"I've won lots of smaller amounts over the years I've been playing at Slotland.com but I never dreamed I'd actually win such a huge jackpot. The money is already in my bank account but not for long."
Slotland.com stated that its progressive jackpot is normally hit approximately every six weeks for between $100,000 and $150,000. However, this is not the first time that wins have happened more frequently as there were three six-figure jackpots in a row last autumn.
The site paid one young couple $169,923 earlier this month after they hit the progressive jackpot playing its MegaSpin game. This top prize was then reset to $50,000 but quickly rose to over $80,000 before being won again.
Every time a player places a bet that qualifies for the progressive jackpot, part of their wager goes into the special jackpot pool. That pool keeps growing until someone strikes it rich and it is currently already over $64,000. In addition, the progressive jackpot at sister site WinADay.com currently sits at over $130,000.
