July 16, 2009 (CAP Newswire) – Two weeks ago, CAP reported that the online petition calling for the full legalization of Internet poker in the United States had soared past its initial goal of 200,000 signatures. Now, thanks to a wave of publicity for the Internet poker legalization crusade in general and the poker petition in specific, that number has jumped to more than 300,000.
The petition, created and maintained by the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), is directly addressed to U.S. President Barack Obama, and is entitled “Poker is Not a Crime”.
“I am a voter and a fellow poker player asking for your support of my right to play games of skill like poker on the Internet,” the petition reads. “This issue is not lost on the American public. We recently made our desire for this liberty known through your Citizen's Briefing Book website. Of the thousands of proposals submitted, a proposal supporting Internet poker rights was the number one issue on technology policy.”
Support the legalization crusade today and help open up the U.S. market to online poker – and ensure that your poker affiliate business gets even more traffic in the future. If you haven’t already done so, click here to sign the petition.
