May 20, 2009 (CAP Newswire) — Last year’s decision to merge Absolute Poker and UltimateBet into a single online poker network called Cereus has been paying off for the sites, averting a PR crisis caused by a highly publicized fraud story and combining the resources of two extremely popular sites. Now, combined, they represent the seventh-largest Internet poker network in terms of cash game traffic.
Still, online poker is highly competitive, and the company wants to make sure it's still moving in the right direction — UP. So, in n effort to improve on its market share, the network has announced a series of ambitious software upgrades for its UltimateBet site. Ranging from the addition of ante games to a new final table view and pop-up notifications for tournaments, these improvements are designed to make the site more competitive than ever.
