The APT was delighted to announce that it has recently been granted government approval to expand the poker festivities in Macau this year. As a result, the 2009 APT Macau has been doubled from six days to twelve under the new name of the Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival.
The Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino will host the event from August 12-23 in Macau, China. The festival will include high-limit cash games as well as smaller tournaments running alongside the APT events.
The Main Event will feature three Day 1s and have a $4,300 buy-in. World-renowned tournament director Matt Savage is pulling the strings at the event and has promised a high roller event also.
According to Asian Poker Tour CEO Chris Parker: "The Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival will feature a side event schedule never seen in Asia before, including several new formats that will stir the curiosity of poker enthusiasts at all levels. We believe Asia’s first festival of poker will establish Macau as an essential stop on the international poker circuit."
