December 3, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — Joanne "JJ" Liu added to her $2 million-plus career winnings over the past 12 years last week when she took down the ninth edition of the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza Main Event. The $2,500 buy-in, NLHE tournament attracted 233 entrants and generated a total prize pool of $539,628.
The final table comprised Liu, Ulises Roman, Nicholas Sliwinski, Richard Dinunzio, Stewart Yancik, Anasavanh Sitivong, Blake Cahail, Christopher MacNeil, and Randy Dorfman.
"JJ" clinched the game after a tough heads up against Ulises Roman, winning the first place prize of $167,283, and the second place payday of $98,212 went to her opponent.
The ME win was Liu's third largest to date, and the eighth straight major prize for Liu, boosting her career income to over $2 million.
