October 13, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — With October 29th through 30th just over the horizon, poker companies are gearing up for the next World Poker Congress, which will take place this year in the Marriott Hotel in the charming and historic Central European city of Budapest in Hungary.
The event is designed to bring together live and online poker businesses to forge an understanding of the differences and similarities between them. The conferences facilitate dialogue, necessary in order for poker to flourish as a worldwide sport, say the organizers, Clarion Gaming.
The WPC is primarily aimed at decision makers, which means attendance is usually around the 150 mark, with delegates involved in some 80 online and land poker companies. Previous conferences have wound up with an informative panel discussion with experienced international poker players, which usually generates very useful exchanges of views and suggestions.
This year the founder and head of World Poker Tour Enterprises, Steve Lipscomb, will again give the keynote speech together with Bwin's Head of Poker, Hendrick Knopp, giving a good balance between live and online poker interest.
