Tuesday, September 30, 2008 — For the second consecutive year, Everest Gaming (formerly UIM) has taken home one of the industry's top awards, the Poker Operator of the Year, which was awarded last week to its online poker platform Everest Poker (www.everestpoker.com).
The award, presented at the eGaming Review Industry Awards in London, was given to the operator that was judged to have "made the most headway in the real-money poker sector during 2007/8". According to a new release by Everest, that company's continued global success was demonstrated through its aggressive marketing campaigns such as Live the Dream and Avalanche, as well as by its exclusive multi-year deal as official felt sponsor of the World Series of Poker.
Having been in business for more than 11 years, Everest Poker is one of the industry's most established names, and well-known in the business for its multilingual offerings, having been the first to launch a truly multilingual poker gaming platform in 2004. It's also one of the few independent poker rooms in the industry, owning its own software. The poker room's player base is over 95% European, but it is also available in 15 languages (Danish, Dutch, English, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish), with round-the-clock local customer support in 17 languages (including Mandarin Chinese and Arabic), giving it a strong understanding of international poker markets. More than 60 percent of active real money Everest Poker players come from Southern Europe, states the company in its news release. (Read that here.)
