September 29, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — Boss Media and stablemate St Minver white label managers have announced a combined initiative to get in on the Italian poker market so successfully being accessed at present by Playtech. Italy's gambling regulators have opened up the online poker market, and the parent company of Boss and St Minver, GTech-Lottomatica, will no doubt make their entrance to the Italian market easier.
Boss Media's poker manager, Per Karlsson, says that the new network will be exclusively for Italian players initially, although the company hopes that ultimately the legislators will allow wider participation, enabling the creation of a better player liquidity pool.
The new Italian poker network is the third poker room Boss has launched in Europe for nationally licensed operators, following similar efforts for the Svenska Spel platform in Sweden and Casinos Austria.
The company has also launched a range of new multi-table tournaments, progressive jackpots, and side games for the poker platform, and has announced that it will offer its first branded games based on licensed brands within the entertainment industry next year.
Eric Matsgard, head of casino and games operations at Boss, said: "Look for more games based on popular films, TV shows, and comics. As part of GTech now, our aim is to offer the widest and most compelling selection of interactive games in the industry."
A new instant-play casino product called MaxBet! will also be available by the fourth quarter of the year, promised Matsgard. The Spanish-facing casino site Juega Casino will be the first Boss client to offer Maxbet!.
Boss, St Minver, and the Finsoft group are also getting into the skill gaming sector more aggressively with the introduction of Skilljuice, a new skill gaming venture under the collective Media Sports and Betting banner led by Gary Shaw, with network hosting and maintenance by St Minver.
