LuxBet, owned by one of Australia’s oldest TOTE’s, TABCorp, has stolen almost word-for-word content from my website.
My website: 2014 AFL Brownlow Medal Betting Odds, Tips, Votes, Past Winners & News – Oze Punting
Luxbet.com: https://www.luxbet.com/betting/afl/brownlow-medal/According to the Wayback archive, they have had this copy online since at least the beginning of this year, while mine has been online since at least 2011.
In case they take down the offending page, I have screenshots here:

http://www.ozepunting.com/legal/LuxBet-Wayback.pngYou can also use Google Cache and the Wayback Machine to verify my claims.
What are my options, am I able to seek damages due to them infringing on my copyright and profiting from my work for at least a year, although I have no real way of knowing how long they have been profiting from my content, how much traffic they generated from Google and how much I missed out on because they would no doubt have a higher “trust”, therefore would probably push my site further down.
Things have been going from bad to worse for me this year, I couldn’t believe it when I stumbled upon this this morning.
As an affiliate of theirs, who has been waiting for 12 days for a response to a support ticket about a promotion they are running, it really adds insult to injury as well!
I’m sick of being treated like a piece of trash by affiliate companies. It’s been happening to me over and over and over again for more than 15 years!

September 18, 2014 at 12:50 pm #836459Dc1KVkaqm7MemberThat’s seriously out of order. I have also had success in the past by contacting the hosting provider about copied content. The offending site was taken down very quickly afterwards.

Matt Cutts once said in a video (take with a grain of salt) when you have original content tweet it. I think that was before google plus. Whenever I get great content I tweet it and share it on google plus, it may help, it may not. My two cents
September 21, 2014 at 9:09 am #836479kslapMemberwrite them an email to remove content, if they don’t you can take legal actions and ask for compensation for the same.

Sometimes content writers are used for one off articles like that and a freelance writer may have been given that topic to write about, googled and found yours and lifted the content. Best of luck though, hope you can get it sorted with them.

Personally I fear you can’t do much, as they haven’t simply copied your content, but rewritten it. The same thing happened to me on several times, although not with operators but with competitors (affiliates) … when they do rewrite the content very much, you can’t do anything, it’s just sad.
