MemberHi all,
While there a few affiliate managers who are straight up honest, the majority will say anything to avoid telling you the truth. Even when asked a direct question.
When the industry finally implodes, lying AM’s and selling used cars is their next perfect job!

MemberI just shake my head when I get told by an affiliate manager that they are giving me an exclusive sign up bonus offer for my players only to find out that the exact same offer is advertised on the casino’s website.
They must think I have the word ‘Dumb Fart’ tatooed on my forehead. :eh:

Seems to be a general consensus, affiliates aren’t too bright!
Which is ironic because the one’s I know, have varied degrees. A couple have a doctorate. :thumbsup:July 10, 2013 at 7:52 pm #833827Anonymous
InactiveThis made me think of a recent one I got, they offered me 25% rev share and said in the email that I would find a better deal anywhere!

MemberDo you ever call your aff managers out, or do you just “live and let live?”

MemberI never live and let live, I even like to call them out when they didn’t do anything wrong just to keep them on their toes! J/K Some managers still treat me the way ixain and dave describe. You will find their listing under the other ones that don’t spin the truth lol.
Especially when you are a new affiliate or may find some short answers in emails and some not so fresh ideas. I yelled at a manager via email that he was acting unprofessional because his emails were simply too short and did not reference me with the proper respect I deserve from a stranger. I then made him describe in great detail, what his program was all about using appropriate language before I gave him the time of day. I dont have three degrees to play around with money… in anyway.
I also hate being treated like a number, with no help or extra incentives, and I trust none.
Basically, I am the right managers best customer, and the wrong managers worst affiliate…. that still makes them money.

That’s a keeper
I’ll say it’s a black widget with pink spots. Instead of answering the damn question; they know exactly what I’m referrencing, I’ll get semantics about a pink widget with black spots. Really fires me up!

Member“Basically, I am the right managers best customer, and the wrong managers worst affiliate…. that still makes them money.” That should be your tagline! Too funny.

InactiveThere are good AMs and programs, and there are bad and AMs and programs.
Every now and then I get a potentially good AM fronting a bad program … but it’s rare. And to be honest … it’s clear within the first sentence of most approaches which sort the writer belongs in.
If the approach is right then we do due diligence, on both the program, the property and the AM.
Eventually say NO to 97% of approaches, and I have no qualms in rejecting any approach that feels off.I say NO, and politely explain that their program does not meet our required standards.
Then I wish them luck – and that’s it. Further emails do not get a response.October 1, 2013 at 11:56 am #834841GamlingPro20

InactiveWhat bothers me the most because it happens so often is I will get approached by a new Aff manager or a new Aff program and they lead with “how many new players can you bring me”. Not what their product can do or what they can offer but what i can do for them? It just baffles me when i hear stuff like that. I even point it out to them that their approach is all wrong and a couple minutes later they ask the same question.
