If the answer was just high pr links then that can’t be possible as people still do reciprocal linking imagine the huge affiliate sites and all the sites they would get linked to – It can’t all just be high pr infact you would think maybe even half would be pr0 links.

So pr0 links must not be that bad its just got to be in the niche?

I’m just saying if you can’t stop thousands of people linking to your site when you get huge how can you be penalized for low quality links.

    ?

Thanks Jillo, I mean when you think of these huge sites they can’t control who’s linking to them? at some point must maybe there is a threshold that you reach that eventually doesn’t matter what you do . Your going to be on top of search forever?

You are going to want a realistic balance of links, ie most natural sites will be say 20% pr0, 30% pr1 10% pr3 8%pr4 5% pr5 extera so pr 0 links are good, as long as they are nhew sites with no pr, not google penalized sites.

    Always want a clean profile!

    Agreed.

Natural growth may indeed start with a lot of other pr0’s and then more pr1 2 3 4 links to a new site.

Non-link-network links should not hurt/penalize, they just might not help.

Natural growth does not happen with 1,000 new links in a day – it’s better to ‘drip feed’ them randomly, slowly and consistently.

I have been getting a few pro’s lately – does it matter that I link them in exchanges to my front page ? does it matter where I put the exchange links?
And interesting stats there allfree will def be taking that on board – It makes sense that there are more PR1’s than PR0’s aswel.

“start with a lot of other pr0’s and then more pr1 2 3 4 links to a new site.” Thats how I’m approaching it Rme like building a house in a way.

Also wanted to point out what I was saying aswell with that a big site example pokerstars imagine how many affiliate sites even low level affiliate sites must be linking to them every day?

what I’m saying is that they can’t control who links to them imagine how many bad sites are linking to the big sites but they arn’t effected in search engines?
So I wonder if there is a threshold in googles alg?

I’ve heard people suggest a 10,000 link threshold but that’s just BS
    pokerstars has about 100,00
And, as you say there are many sites with lots more

A natural looking group of links would include many pr0’s and progressively less as you go higher in pr.
