Thanks to its seemingly straightforward name, Google’s Duplicate Content “Penalty” is rapidly becoming one of the most misunderstood concepts ever to come from the search engine giant. Hey… I thought that it was a true-blue penalty, too. To help gain clarity, I just wanted to share the following article that breaks down the basics every webmaster should know about this highly misleading topic.

The Truth About Google’s Duplicate Content Penalty

Yes, it is a good post about a very common misconception.
It is only a penalty only in the sense that you are not rewarded for copying the same old thing onto different sites.

Sounds like a term that the IRS would come up with.

Really if your article is stolen, it should count as a reference and increase the score of the original page don’t you think?

Totally agree. It definitely says something good about the site being copied.

    Absolutely.

A new way to build authority ‘stealability’.
And then when you get repeatedly hacked, it’s ‘tarketability’.

That’s what we need is an ‘anti-google algorithmics’ or a ‘google2too’.

Now, then who wants to trade thefts and rank high on that index measure.

    (PS Just kidding:) )
