Thanks.
It’s a nice offer for sure, but we’re going to give it another month or so to see if it can be beaten. I’ve had half a dozen offers in the £300k to £420k region, and a lot more below – the lowest being €65 (sixty five euros!).
We were offered £1.5m in 2007 (and again in 2009) from a very well known (and very large) poker site. Though, unfortunately we were not looking to sell at that time.
April 28, 2012 at 10:22 pm #823933kriswestMemberI agree with slotsaff, 1.5 million then was great for a co.uk. Even 420K now is a lot Its a buyers market these days…poker has peaked in the UK, the changing legal landscape now might help your cause with global players trying to get a foothold in countries where they can get a licence, UK looks like its following other EU counties like the route France took. If so you could be in with a shot with the mid 6 figures. But don’t be blinded, it looks like you should have sold on poker.co.uk a couple of years back. Did you test the waters with an auction a sedo?
As for the other names, I would be very suprised if you had any buyer at over 5K for any of them. If you do send them my way when you have taken their cash.

It almost but didn’t quite make business sense to sell in 2007 or 2009, as £1.5m represented a small-ish multiplier at those times.
I’ve not tested the waters with a sedo auction, though do have a well respected broker on the case who has contacted relevant prospects. This where all the offers have come from thus far.
As for the other names, I already have early offers – that have passed due diligence – of between £10k and £15k for each, so am surprised you think it will be hard to sell for over £5k? Unless, of course, you are talking about the long list of other names, in which case I fully agree. Those are really just listed for completeness sake – if anyone wants to take everything as a package.

The highest “genuine” offer (one that I have been able to run due diligence on) is £380,000 so far (£400,000 if I include texasholdem and omaha in a package).
I was offered £500,000 last month, and was due to conclude that deal at the end of April. Unfortunately the person offering that turned out to be a complete waste of time (whilst pretending he had the cash to make the purchase, in the end all he was doing was trying to broker it to Pokerstars for a higher rate, thus taking the difference in price for himself).
Unfortunately, I wasted 3 weeks getting that information out of him. Very annoying.
