    Hi everyone,

This thread might belong in the ‘Newbie Corner’ (sorry moderators/admins, if I’m in the wrong place). Anyhow, I’m looking to promote some bingo products (outside of the US) and would like some suggestions as to where my money should be spent (media-wise). Google, social media, etc? Thoughts on acquiring a bingo site that is already up and running with some solid traffic? (I’ll be posting another thread in the ‘Buy/Sell’ section to see what’s available.)

Please let me know your input; thanks in advanced.

    Hi Duma:

Welcome to the forums! Somehow this post got buried in the General Discussion area, so I thought it could get quite a bit more exposure in the Newbie Corner section.

Would you be willing to share the site that you would be starting out with? That could possibly help with getting input.

Also, you should absolutely get your SEO Strategy in order… For traffic, this is going to be one of your biggest levers. As for other channels, most definitely Social Media.

Best of luck to you and keep us posted with what’s going on with your venture!

    This is a good question.

It is definitely optimal to have both SEO and search marketing activities – they should feed each other. The right balance is going to be more influenced by your site format than by the fact that the niche is Bingo. If you have a traditional article/review portal then SEO is where you should put your focus. A magazine style format would benefit from twitter, css and social bookmarking. I think that a more interactive site will benefit most from focused social marketing activities.

I think your success is going to hinge most on your own elbow grease. Even if that elbow grease is spent weeding through the marketing opportunities. Realizing that on the internet marketers and network success, which should be measured by your success, is more often measured by charging as much as possible for as little (effort) as possible.

    Hi Jill and BA,

Thank you both for your feedback, some great info. This project is in it’s infant stages… Actually it’s more like I’m pregnant and I’d be in my first trimester. :)

I was thinking about pushing products through social media without a site but just wanted to hear some thoughts on it. I also posted a “want to buy” post to perhaps acquire a site with some decent traffic and accounts already; then optimizing it around what works best. So yeah, this is all at the beginning stages but I’d like to get under way very soon. All the feedback I’ve gotten from friends, CAP and various sites seem to point towards launching a site. I’ll let you guys know how it all goes, please chime in or PM me anytime if you have any ideas or suggestions. Thanks again.

I’ve been in this industry for years and just recently launched my first bingo site so I can share some of the things I did.

I spent a few hours searching google for the top bingo sites using simple keywords like bingo and online bingo, from there I made notes of other keywords those top sites were using and expanded my search until I had a list of popular keywords that I would turn into pages. I wasn’t looking to spend too much on content so I narrowed it down to just a few pages to get things started.

The next step was to decide how I wanted to layout the homepage and again I went very simple with good flow and kept the amount of sites being promoted to only six. I’ll add more as time goes but since I was breaking into a niche that was new to me I want to be able to monitor the progress slowly. Next on my list of things to do is setting up Twitter and Facebook pages so I can keep followers updated on new bonuses, etc.

My advice is to take it slow. Make sure google cannot see you site before it’s ready and if you need help or suggestions, just feel free to ask for a site review here on CAP.

I am so glad I find this thread. I am new here, but I am beginning my way into a Bingo site as well. As a newbie my strategy is focus on the content, even though it is hard to compete with generic terms, you can go a deeper and find some opportunities.

    @fonzi
: can you tell us a little bit more about your experience? How many hours you dedicate to your site? When you expect to see some results?

Thank you for sharing and have a nice day.

GP, I’ve been in the industry for 7 years so I knew what I wanted from a design standpoint. Something simple with only a few sites on it. It took me a few hours to build what you see. Online Bingo -Best Bingo Sites and Exclusive Online Bingo Offers
Keep in mind that I can put a site up very quickly because I’ve done it hundreds of times. My very 1st site took me months if not years to get where I wanted it. My advice is do not rush and don’t let google see your site before its ready. If you need help, feel free to ask. I’m usually online during the week.

I don’t expect much as far as results for a few months but I’m also not promoting it as well as I could. I’m in no rush so letting it sit a bit isn’t a concern for me. Going forward I’ll be adding some bingo site reviews, maybe some news on new games and bonuses and also link building (slowly). I also need to set up Twitter and FB accounts for some social marketing.

Using social media without a site probably could work in this niche if you are really in touch with what the player base is looking for. If I was going after UK, I would create a bingo fan group. If I was going after US I would offer something else like draws or special games.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Thanks again to everyone for their great feedback so far. I just started testing the waters the CTR and sign-up numbers are good but as far as actual deposits/conversions, that is to be determined.
