Just wanted to post a friendly update to those community members that are Ladbrokes Affiliates. Apparently there were some pretty major changes to their commission structure…

Ladbrokes Commission Changes – Good or Bad?

I don’t want to defend Ladbrokes but I think CAP’s article is a little bit subjective on this matter. In my opinion Ladbrokes has 4 major problems and they fix 3 of them with this change:
    1) They implement cross product revenue (which is not mentioned in the article). I believe this is more important than commission percentage change because not paying for the products other than the one the player singed on is a huge lost for the affiliate. I think than in long term the average affiliate will receive better commissions because of this change.
    2) Payments: now they offer Skrill & Neteller which is great
    3) Affiliate software problems: let’s be honest at the moment their affiliate software is ridiculous (it’s too long to explain why but everybody who worked with it knows it) now they will fix it too with IA software
    4) Communication -it is terrible at the moment: they are the only company in the industry answered an email of mine after 6 months.. I can hope that they will improve it too.

I am certainly happy they will move to IA, thereby getting rid of some of their stats issues – but this problem is much deeper. I have put our analysis on it over at AGD. We need to speak out about this and stop working with Ladbrokes, IMO, if they move forward with the commissions model changes:

Ladbrokes Predatory, likely to go ROGUE unless changes are made.

We are urging affiliates to talk with their banners and stop promoting Ladbrokes until which time they implement both a proper revshare agreement AND remove the retroactive nature of this change.

    Thanks for your time.

Retroactive change of terms is a no-go!

But for new players signing up, basically I don’t see anything wrong in a comission structure where more players means more revshare – as long as the zero player tier is not ridiculously low.

We’re sorry you don’t feel that the article is subjective, but we based it from the perspective of affiliates whose commission structure will be taken down to the lower tiers with the new model. For those who now have to update 40-50 links for a lower percentage, it’s not worth it. Thank you for your feedback!

Just a quick note to add that although I like the changes they are making (as I said 15% on all products looks better than 25% on single one) I totally agree with Andy that retroactively changing agreements is not a decent behaivior and should not be tolerated.

    Just received this from Ladbrokes:

Further to our last communication regarding our new commission model, we have since decided to review your earnings potential based on this model and are pleased to inform you of positive changes that we have made. We have revised this model to take into consideration the nature of the different products you promote.

Please see below our new default commission structure. Based on discussions and feedback from our affiliates, we believe that in this way we are better incentivising our Casino, Bingo, Games and Poker affiliates as we have improved the player sign up levels to reflect these products.

As from today our default model will be as below, this model will not change for the remainder of 2012.

    Number of Players Commission
    Level 1 61+ 35%
    Level 2 21-60 30%
    Level 3 1-20 25%
    Level 4 0 15%

As an introductory offer you will earn 30% or more on all revenue generated during February and March.

We are sure that this change will be greeted positively by all of you and look forward to a continued fruitful collaboration.

Seems like they do listen to affiliates. At first glance it looks fair…

no, it’s just as bad as the last one, only the numbers are diferent.
They are still insisting you send them players otherwise they steal 10% of the commission you are entitled to.

I have never had any luck with the Ladbrokes programme, I send players but never seem to trigger commission and as stats are not real time I have never given them much time either!

I have been sent details about the new affiliate site, but it does not accept my login details can anyone else login? or do we have to wait to 1st feb when site is live and therefore we have no lead in time to get new links up
