I have a brand new affiliate site, just finished. Not sure it’s very good at all. I feel at a loss to know where to start. Was thinking of Google PPC. I have no email lists yet. Not sure I even like that idea, seems like SPAM to me. I get so much! If you were just starting, what would you do first? Thanks gang!

    Welcome Cajmere!

To get a better idea & to give you some tips, would you be willing to share your site?

    My site is: http://www.silkwoodslotscasino.com
Would love to connect with someone who knows what they’re doing? I sure don’t!
Starting to wonder why I wanted to do this….but I do!

I am Canadian/Ontario. Part of my concern is about how legal this type of site is. Do you have any idea? Where are you from? Do you know any Canadians that have an affiliate site?
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Congratulations on the website. It’s the first step, and everything starts with it :). From what I see your website has 3 pages and I am guessing static. If I may suggest, switch to some sort of CMS like WordPress. This would give you the easiness to add new pages and posts with a few simple clicks.

You are entering competitive niche. In order to place well in the serps and for people to register through you, you would need a lot more content, links toward your website and a lot of time to put in the website. Will not happen overnight, but set a limit depending on the free time you have. A review or two a day would be great, more will be even better.

Introduce new categories like Welcome Bonuses, Free Bets, Sign Up Offers, Special Offers whatever comes to your mind.

I am not going to go with technical details like plugins and stuff, but I am not sure how well you are with that stuff. For right now I will assume you are new into the whole online websites experience :).

This can be overwhelming this is why I can suggest you a fellow Canadian, that has helped me a lot. Visit him at :: Online Gambling Affiliates Programs & Guide. John will sure help you out, if you want to learn and have the patience for it.

    Take care.

Site looks ok. Keep adding content, such as review sections etc.. In terms of marketing, I have had some success with email marketing before but nowadays I would say it is difficult because people will tend to overlook them or they make get filtered into their spam folders.

I’d highly recommend PPC for quick and good conversions. Though you may have to do some tweeking and fine tuning (and in the process waste some money) before getting it down to where it generates ROI for you. Let me know if you have questions about this and I can give you share some tips that I’ve accummulated from doing this.

There are plenty of Canadian affiliates on here, I’m sure some will chime in. Just to reiterate what others have said, the site has very little content on it at the moment, I would concentrate on getting some more

Hi caseym, thanks for your feedback. Would you be willing to show me what a good site looks like? Also, I am affiliate with Casino Rewards, is that a good idea? or? Do you recommend WordPress? How do I get WordPress? Thanks.

    Hi Casinorep,
Thanks for your replay. I very much appreciate your input. How long have you been in this business? I’m slow in starting but won’t give up. I just need to learn a lot and need some guidance. Do you recommend WordPress? I need a list of some words for PPC. That’s about all I understand. I’d love to take you up on your offier to help. I’ve started with Casino Rewards affiliates program but am not getting a lot of direct help, just referrals to websites. I really need a coach I think. If you can steer me in the right direction I would be grateful. Thanks so much!

Not trying to just “chime-in” here… but when it comes to WordPress… I highly recommend it! I’ve had the opportunity to work with a few other CMS Solutions- Drupal, Joomla and WP. By far, WP is the most user friendly and easy CMS solution out there.

Wordpress is good as it offers many plugins for beginners like yourself to be able to add on with a simple click. They also have any templates with customization capabilities. I also like Blogger.com since they are owned by Google, and gives you traffic analysis so that you gauge your visitors’ traffic source, keywords they’ve typed to find your site, and demographics. (These are critical when you do PPC).

PM me what types of players you want to target and I can list keywords that will help.

I would recommend taking a look at the casino affiliate sites that have been recently nominated as the best ones for ideas http://files.igamingbusiness.co.uk/PDFs/Final_Shortlists_2012.pdf

With regards to Casino Rewards that decision is yours but here is a thread you should be made aware of How is Rewardsaffiliates doing for you?

For wordpress check out wordpress.org It is generally regarded as the best free CMS

    Hope all this helps
