Al D’Amato is the chairman of the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) and also happens to be a former US Senator. And apparently D’Amato discussed with Congress last week some potential amendments to online poker laws in the US. Bottom line, his testimony is:
a) Regulated online poker in the US
b) Creating a safe playing environment for players
He stands by that A & B will equate to thousands of jobs and billions to the government. To get more details on what wen down: Al D’Amato Speaks to Congress about Online Poker Laws
Kind of an interesting point… In this discussion, D’Amato was directly asked about the PPA’s relationship with Full Tilt Poker. Instead, he is basically using FTP’s demise as a reason to push forward with this regulated online poker agenda. However, the PPA has received $2.49 million in financial support from Full Tilt Poker via the Interactive Gaming Council for lobbying in Washington. Something seems fishy here- no?
