Recent reports share that Bodog will be exiting the US Poker Market by the end of 2011. Another big hit for the US Online Poker Industry.

Is anyone surprised by their decision?

Wise move IMO… any networks left in the US market are just leaving targets on their back. As the big players leave, the list gets smaller and those that are left become the next targets by the DOJ.

I feel fearful of the Merge network being a huge target – especially Carbon as the flagship. Sort of why I will not put much confidence in them or other US facing brands. We have all scene what can happen. I know for us we dropped our US traffic as much as possible and still are trying even further.

Will you be keeping these traffic sources on the sidelines? What if US regulation occurs? (I know… may be too optimistic at this point)

Just to clarify, the bodog BRAND is leaving the US market at the end of the year but the company that owns and operates bodog.eu (MMGG) will simply rebrand itself and continue operating as usual. Also, MMGG’s newly branded site will join the Bodog Poker Network so poker players will have the same liquidity pool that they are used to and should notice very little change at all.

Any questions, let me know! We are essentially talking about a name change here. :)

Thanks so much for the clarification, Becky. Sounds exciting. Any details that you can share about the new US brand?

Pleasure :) MMGG and Bodog Affiliate will be releasing info about the new brand by the end of the year!

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
