Which do you use for collecting affiliate payments? The personal one has lower fees but will they allow you to use it? If they do not, do they just switch it to a merchant account or do they give you major headaches?
Just a personal account, isnt a merchant account like if you want are a casino and are making payments to other people, and collecting payments?

The seem to say anybody receiving money for reasons other than family, friend, or recreation (gaming) should have a merchant site. Freelancers on Odesk discussing it who asked Moneybookers said they told them they should have a merchant account.
