So, is this really true, or is U.S. government going to use this as an excuse for U.S. Players never being able to get their money back ?

Good call… but it seems like the DOJ is fully claiming Full Tilt Poker was operating as a Ponzi Scheme.
This is a quote from the WSJ:
On Tuesday, the U.S. Justice Department in a civil suit accused Messrs. Lederer, Ferguson and Furst, and another director of the company behind the Full Tilt Poker website, of defrauding thousands of online poker players out of more than $300 million that is still owed to them.

Not a chance of that happening, Jill. Bad debt write-offs abound this year……
