Or should Google keep it a secret for preserving it from other competitor search engines ?

Why would they give away their trade secret. Would CocaCola give away the full recipe for Coke? Sorry, maybe I don’t fully understand what you mean.

I agree also, they should and nor would they give their algorithm away. Not only for competitors but also so people can not make 1000s ****ty websites and rank them very easily, ticking all the boxes necessary.

If they did give it away, it’d probably ruin them. Within a week every keyword would be so SEO’d that it’d be impossible for users to get quality search results … and then we’d all start using Bing.

I think Google really enjoys not only the secrecy of its algorithms, but the fact that an entire industry has risen out of the fact that nobody can quite figure it out.

It would be a nightmare if everyone knew Google’s ranking secrets, there is too much competition as it is lol I don’t think there are any secrets though, its mainly about link building I suspect :)

Google prefers to give clues via Google Webmasters Tools. And ıt will hold the mains ecrets always in hand. But Google has a mission and vision statement of regulating the internet. So they are only giving the clues that will make internet faster and filled with more accurate info.
