D.C.’s now in the race of states (or districts in this case) considering regulating online gambling. A lot happened in Nevada, Iowa, and California this week, too. Click here for CAP’s igaming regulatory week in review.
I don’t know if it’s so much a race, as it is being the first state to have the guts, make the first move, and then be the poster child and be the punching bag, for State Online Gambling. We’ve said all along, if one state will dip their toe and take this plunge, the rest will follow. However, a lot of notoriety (and criticism) will be associated with being the first one to adopt a plan. It’s a game of chicken now, I believe.
