Starting my site and I was looking for opinions.
Wordpress seems to be a favorite, but there is a learning curve. Im pretty good with html and could hit the ground running with a simple template.
Should I buckle down and get with wordpress or would a simple html site do just as well? Is there a basic wordpress theme that is easy to use?
February 27, 2011 at 9:17 pm #814980AnonymousInactiveWordPress is really the best from an ease of use and SEO standpoint.
StudioPress.com and WPGambling.com have some great themes to choose from.
February 28, 2011 at 8:26 am #814986warp speedMemberWordpreess would be more effective as Seo Part concerns. So you should go with that.
February 28, 2011 at 6:27 pm #814995slotfeverMemberI also vote for WordPress. The first site you do will take a little longer than a typical HTML site, but the ability to make changes and edits on the fly will speed things up for you later.
March 3, 2011 at 9:59 pm #815048neerajMemberiv just been playing around with wordpress the last few days, i had an old domain name i didnt use, content is weak, but just to play around with i got free hosting with 000webhost, which is worth every penny lol…anyway i used the theme suffusion which has tons of setting and features, take a look, bear in mind this is about 6 hours of work over 3 days and iv never used wordpress before and im not a web designer…Slot Cheats Guide what im finding is google index’s the pages really which is great, i havent even got into the plugins deep yet, but i found a great one called wp-table reloader that designs data tables from csv, and the ultimate seo plugin looks like an amazing tool that i havent scratched the surface of yet..so yeah use wordpress for sure
March 4, 2011 at 6:57 am #815053AnonymousInactiveGo with wordpress. The learning curve is really only a couple of days. The trick is knowing which plug ins to use on ur word press site. The plug ins basically put your website on steroids and help with everything from seo, images, stats. Check out one of my cap blog articles, it has word press plug ins that you should be using!
March 4, 2011 at 11:43 am #815055WalterMemberI would say WordPress all the way – especially if you haven’t used a CMS before. As itsblitz said, once you know the way around the system then it is easier and quicker than updating raw HTML files.
One plugin I would recommend without hesitation is the All in One SEO pack – don’t start a wordpress site without it!

Ultimate SEO plugin is what I use instead of the all in one seo pack.. imagine all in one seo pack.. but x 3!

March 6, 2011 at 4:30 pm #815079volonetMemberI am also looking to get started using wordpress, just to get some user interaction on some sites.
Does anyone that is familiar with wordpress know of a plugin that would allow users to submit a listing for an event. Say they were having a local poker tournament, they could type into fields
Date
Time
Location
Buy-In
Contact Information
and the listing would automatically appear on the page with other listings?
If this isn’t possible with wordpress does anyone know of the easiest way to accomplish this?March 9, 2011 at 4:31 am #815110slotfeverMemberIf you’re looking for a plugin to handle events, check out Events Manager Extended in the WP plugin directory.
I’ve had pretty good luck using it for managing listings. It also allows you to collect RSVPs, but I have not used it for that.

so hows it going, what theme did you go with, iv spent the last 3 weeks putting up 2 wordpress sites using the suffusion theme( the slots cheats and new casino bonus ones in my sig) and about 5 plugins, all in one seo pack(i found ultimate seo a bit over complicated for me), wp-table reloader(for importing csv data tables), google xml sitemaps, fast secure contact form, wordpress stats. anyone want to suggest an awesome plugin, or is there a whole post dedicated to this
March 15, 2011 at 6:14 pm #815238slotfeverMemberItsblitz,
How did WP-table reloader work for you? I’ve been looking at it but haven’t tried it out yet.
Also, check the HTML on the contact form on Best Slots Bonus, I saw a line that had code in it when I looked at the site.

the table re loader tool is really good, you just need to save your table as a csv file in excel or open office which is what i use and make the right selections on spacing(,comma) when you save or youl just get a mess of code when you bring it into wordpress using the table plugin..but can recommend it enough..the code your seeing on bestslotsbonus is html link you can just grab and paste so people can add me easier…that site is not wordpress and i dont pay much attention to it anymore but i should
