Jersey governor Chris Christie still has a few weeks to sign (or veto) New Jersey’s online gambling law. He has chosen so far to sign two other bills related to the online gambling law — but not the online gambling law itself. If he doesn’t sign it, it becomes law without his signature: New Jersey Gov Approves New Betting Exchange But Not Internet Gambling

I wonder if the governors get together and say “lets hold back on these laws” and wait for x, y, z to happen.. then lets open it up, work together and get everything on the same page?

Christie is super-progressive, and if there is a way to raise revenue, he will do it. Thinking about it a bit, I think he is somewhat hesitant to sign the online gambling bill, for fear that it might alienate the brick-and-mortar casinos in his state. His not signing it (but allowing it to become law), may be his way of saying we need the money, but I still feel some sort of allegiance to the brick-and-mortar casino industry. I’m not sure. There is still a couple of weeks left, so anything can still happen at this point. Regardless, it is certainly drama in our industry.
