New Jersey and California seem to be in a race to be the first state to pass online gambling laws — and reap the rewards of having the online gambling industry possibly locate new offices within their borders, thus giving their local economies a huge boost in addition to taxes earned from online gambling itself.

As this point, New Jersey’s iGaming bill is a bit farther along than California’s, having recently passed a senate subcommittee. Read about it here.

Well, let’s hope this moves. It will be interesting to see how “restrictive” these state-based bills become, and if their legislatures will attempt to get the support of ISP’s to keep the legalization within their state borders.

A good thought of UIGEA, coz they are running after the money and not the players. It depends on the people on how they consider online gambling. of course, its a big help, but somehow NJ would put up a restriction.
