A lot of people are saying that Page Rank means zip now days. Well one of my new sites was a PR2 and went down to a PR1 this last update and my traffic is down 50%.
So I guess PR still does play a major part, or does it. :tooconfus

Our site was a PR4 a couple of years ago, but has settled into a PR2 for the last 12-18 months. In the same time span, our search positions have only improved. We even have PR0 pages showing in the first page of results for competitive keywords, so no I don’t think PR is all that important.
PR is really only important to other webmasters who only consider PR when buying or exchanging links.

People get confused about actual try page rank which is part of the google algo and that little green bar at the top. true PR is a continued flow of link juice, that little green bar just gives you a snap shot in a 3-6 month period so I never, ever take any interest in it. Also with the way google work out the scale from PR1 to PR2 to PR3 etc means that a very small fraction of juice (at the snapshot time) can change you from PR1 to PR2 and vica versa. Check out the serps, plenty of sites outrank sites that have better TBPR, simply don’t worry about it and get relevant links instead of chasing PR

PageRank is an extremely important factor when it comes to getting your site climbing the search engines.. Google works out that when one page links to another page, it is effectively voting for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be.
Hey Steve
What is your idea of raising old posts back to life? You do realize that this thread was started in April 2009 and that Page Rank is not what it used to be.

lol Steve has been raising the spirits from the dead on many posts. As another member here stated he is probably a wannabe spammer.
