Hi,
I posted this in the Betfair thread also but there using a very different idea.
After not counting several players that i reffered over there, and after not paying my last 2 months of commision, i get this e-mail from the Betfair team:
Dear Affiliate
Our Legal Department have advised us that any proactive activity of advertising Betfair in Romania constitutes a legal threat to our operation there, and because of this we can no longer accept Romanian affiliates.
We are therefore terminating our affiliate agreement with all Romanian affiliates on 20 business days notice (Mon-Fri excluding public holidays) under Clause 13.1 of our Terms and Conditions.
After this date (12 May 2009) we will set all accounts to Inactive and you will no longer receive commissions – so we would ask that you remove our banners from your site within this time.
Please let us know if you would like to be contacted if Betfair’s policy changes in the future.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards
Betfair Affiliate Team
This looks like a tipical scam idea to me. I have a traffic of over 3000 visitors / day, and i’m sure that i have send many players there that are not tracked. If someone could help me in this situation please do so.
Many thanks,

April 14, 2009 at 10:16 am #798490CharlesWFMemberIve worked for Betfair for many years. They really seem to value affiliates and I doubt very much they would do anything to harm their reputation with them. Betfair have plenty of cash and I doubt they would do anything to save a few pennies.
Sounds like they are following the advice of their legal team thats all. Sure it sucks for you and all other Romanian Affiliates but if they could avoid it then I expect they would.
April 14, 2009 at 10:27 am #798491netgamblingMemberI don’t have a problem with accepting Romanian affiliates, but i don’t think i’ll get my payment for the last two months.. thats why i asked you for help..
April 14, 2009 at 10:29 am #798492CharlesWFMemberOh right – probably best ask Betfair about that one!
Never had any problems with them paying up.
April 14, 2009 at 12:44 pm #798497netgamblingMemberWell, i send 10 mails i think, receiving no reply..
April 14, 2009 at 5:01 pm #798515buyallngMemberHi Alex
We have unfortunately had to deactivate all Romanian affiliates accounts in our program after receiving legal advise from our legal team regarding the current situation.
We have not been accepting Romanian affiliates for a short while, but we had just been advised we would also have to deactivate those affiliates who had signed up prior to this decision. We will be paying all affiliates affected their outstanding commission and hope that in the future our legal position on Romania may change so we can again welcome Romanian affiliates to our program.
Once again we are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
If you have any further queries or have more information regarding your tracking issue, please email me at [email protected] and I can have a look into this for you.
Kind regards
Katrina
