someone from cap added me to msn, and proceeded to try to sell me a database of poker and casino players from ipoker. I said to them “you know this is illegal” they said, yes. Then they sent me a sample file which contained a screenshot of about 1k email addresses [with amateur effort to obscure them, but all were legible]
I know the same idiot has been trying to sell this list to operators and affiliates.. beware, and ffs don’t buy the list off this moron. it’s not worth going to jail for now is it… (and hey, I could do with a big list of email addresses of players.. who couldn’t!)
I was pretty disturbed when I informed the poker room in question and they just said “thanks”.. Presuambly they won’t tell their players that their data is for sale…
February 19, 2009 at 2:22 am #795538ZlzmbmaxMemberWas this list from a certain ‘coolman’ on msn?
If so the freak is a clown of the first order
February 19, 2009 at 8:16 am #795551neophyteMemberyep thats the dude
February 19, 2009 at 9:34 am #795555ZlzmbmaxMemberAs an Affiliate Manager, a list of player details isn’t all that much use to me.
I get offered them from time to time and am always amused by the air of espionage and subtefuge these people employ.
Invariably they seem to think that what they have in their hands is absolute gold-dust and not an out-of-date list that’s probably been rinsed several times already.
In this case the bloke seemed amazed that I wasn’t snapping his hands off to buy it off him.

February 19, 2009 at 2:03 pm #795579grimsqueakerMemberHey..
Just got the same dude on msn asking me to buy the adresses from him.. His a complete idiot started to say 500€ and i told him that i didn’t do spam so he ended up offerering the list to me for 100€ – i still said no and asked him to buzz off.. Idiot…
February 19, 2009 at 2:27 pm #795582AnonymousInactiveI think someone has already bought that list as I get spam emails to the email address I used for my account at ipoker.
February 19, 2009 at 2:56 pm #795586TramalosriMemberYea he was here trying to dump the list as well.
Was actually quite some time since we where offered a list.

lolFebruary 24, 2009 at 10:20 am #795983BetsoftGamingMemberHe is sooo cool….in a not so cool way.
The guy tried with me also, had him on for a while as I toyed with him saying if his list was so good then why not run it on a rev share with us, he’d make a tonn more cash out of it.
He offered it for $1000, which for a ‘massive database of players’ is rather cheap.
What a doughnut. :roflmao:
February 24, 2009 at 10:20 am #795984TramalosriMemberVery nice conversation Tom!
Seems like illegal lists are the least “chocking” news for today
February 24, 2009 at 11:02 am #795988BetsoftGamingMemberchocking? :cappy:

Choking prevents breathing, and can be partial or complete, with partial choking allowing some, although inadequate, flow of air into the lungs. Prolonged or complete choking results in asphyxiation which leads to hypoxia and is potentially fatal.
Could also be that I meant Shocking
There are many extremely lewd jokes circulating that use shock value as humor. The idea is that if something is extremely offensive it begins to become funny. Death, murder, kidnapping, incest, sex offender, rape, discrimination, child molestation, and other issues considered vulgar are common elements of shock value jokes:tongue:
