Guys, moderators are supposed to be the calming influence on the community.
Fighting in public is bad form for moderators, you have a private forum here if you must settle something.
Closing threads is NOT done here without consultation.
But most of all, personal attacks are not allowed. Name calling is completely out! Any name calling! We are professionals moderating a professional forum, not a social forum where such things may be tolerated.
When we see an issue between posters, we assume the adult role and calm it down, gently and without hurting anyone’s feelings.
If we get attacked, we handle it graciously and without starting a flame.
Moderators are mediators, not censors and not people who take sides in disputes.
