Why is there a post about a server attack by Isaia (sp, don’t remember exact name) deleted by brainman?
Who is brainman and how can he delete a post by another person?
Has brainman hacked isaia’s cap account and deleted “his own” post? :tooconfus

January 9, 2009 at 2:31 pm #792155vladcizsolMemberUsers cannot delete threads, but Moderators can. Brainman is a mod in the sportsbetting area. I will check post (I can see deleted posts and find out why he felt it was a good idea to delete the thread. Brainman isnt terribly active so the post must have been pretty offensive to him for him to delete it.)

January 9, 2009 at 2:56 pm #792157AnonymousInactiveThe post was a cry for help by someone who’s server was being attacked. Maybe the poster asked to have it removed.
Who all else has mod powers here other than us in this forum?
January 9, 2009 at 3:12 pm #792159vladcizsolMemberThere are a number of mods who arent terribly active who have capabilities in their forum area only. Brainman is one of them.
I found the thread and read it and it was indeed a request for help. Unfortunately Brainman did not include a reason for deleting the thread. Perhaps the user did ask if the thread could be removed via PM but he didnt post any request… VERY strange.
I restored it and moved it to Blackhatters, Spammers and Hackers area.
January 9, 2009 at 3:17 pm #792161AnonymousInactiveThanks, I found it very odd.
Maybe he deleted it because it was not about sportsbetting?
Maybe mods need to be given a proper delete policy – I thought that we do not delete threads unless asked by the author?
For threads that got out of hand we contact you?
I’d hate to think that everyone and his brother goes around deleting threads they don’t like or disagree with.
January 9, 2009 at 3:19 pm #792163AnonymousInactiveThat is so true which is why my mods are instructed to never delete but to move the post to a private area so a sr staff member can decide what to do with it. Maybe you should do that.
January 9, 2009 at 5:06 pm #792172AnonymousInactiveI agree. At my forum they are to move them archives then I either ban or send warning.
FYI, I don’t have any edit right other than the polls section and I would always alert CAP staff for that. I’m glad to know that Dom has rights to edit posts.
January 9, 2009 at 7:38 pm #792182AnonymousInactiveSo glad Dom has those rights I would not want that responsibility. I am happy just running to her and saying help what do you suggest I do..lol This forum is so much more difficult to manage from my own, with this you have to always be I guess I would say politically correct and diplomatic. I have always respected and looked up to Dom for that she does an amazing job Of course I always considered her my mentor so I am a bit biased.
