Hey guys
We have just launched a new promotion at Yukon Gold Casino.
$1000 FREE and 1 Hour of Free Spins
Some banners are currently available through the RA site and more will follow next week once we make the launch official. Mailers will follow soon after.
Any questions or probs, let me know.
CheersOctober 25, 2008 at 1:49 am #784048AnonymousInactiveOh – thats a shame …
Renee,
I hate these $1000 free and 1 hour promos as they have two main effects …1) The T&Cs regarding cash out and turnover requirements are complex and so the offer is not nearly as generous as it shouts in the headlines. Customers that do well think that they’ve been “gyped” when they realise how far away they are from cashing out the winnings.
Basically the vast difference between the headlines of $1000 free and the reality of the situation leaves a bad taste even for players with a small win.
2) It becomes very obvious to potential depositors how unlikely it is that they will win – with many people blowing the “free” $1000 well within the hour. You’re effectively demonstrating why they should never deposit.
DISCLAIMER : I haven’t read the exact promo details yet – I’ll get my casino gal to do that – but I’m sure that you’re not really giving away $1000 free to every player who plays for an hour …
:hattip:
The bottom line is …I’ve yet to see ANY of the casinos that we promote do better with this promotion when compared to a more standard 100% match bonus and 30x turnover …
Usually casinos do substantially worse at conversions and retentions …
:Cry:October 25, 2008 at 4:20 am #784052AnonymousInactivethink the trick is for casinos to also offer a deposit bonus for those who eith dont win anything in freeplay promos or opt out of them. yukon gold is giving away a $50 match bonus for those who decline the freeplay promo. i think golden tiger casino should do at least the same, but thats another matter…

Majority of players are aware about the casinos “bonus hunters paranoia, and this $1000(Plus a few more Zeros) x1hour promo does not look generous at all. Why do not you reverse to the OLD GOOD PROMO $100 x wager 30X non-sticky?October 26, 2008 at 2:27 pm #784116PqeqnjzvMemberHey Renee,
I am guessing that there will be, but just to pre-empt this, I’d like to ask for a 120×60 banner for this promo.
Thanks,

I’m a little confused about this point.. Once the player has finished the free hour, they are then able to deposit to claim the bonus they won from the initial hour.
The T&Cs tell the player that the maximum amount they can claim from the free spins is $200 over the initial bonus. So as in Yukon, the bonus is $1000, their balance at the end of the free spins will need to be $1200 to be able to claim the maximum $200.
On a casino where the minimum deposit amount is $20, thats a 1000% bonus. So these promotions can also be promoted as an ‘Up to 1000% deposit bonus’.
The minimum deposit amount on all casinos is $20, except for CCC which is $50, and Yukon Gold which is $40. So the % bonus can be worked out for those too..
Terms and conditions of the YG promotion can be found here: http://www.yukongoldcasino.eu/help/termsconditions.asp
Bonus T&Cs can be found here: http://www.yukongoldcasino.eu/help/termsconditions.asp#Bonus
Promotion T&Cs can be found here: http://www.yukongoldcasino.eu/promo/signup.asp
First three points straight from the T&Cs:
- Bonus amounts credited to a Player’s bonus account are subject to 30 times play through before they may be cashed in.
- Different games played may contribute a different percentage of the play through – up to 100%, towards the required play-through.
- The contributing percentages are as follows:
- -Slots and Parlor Games count 100% towards wagering requirements
- -Table Poker, Casino War and Sic Bo count 50% towards wagering requirements
- -Video Poker, all Blackjacks except Classic Blackjack, Craps and Baccarat count 10% towards wagering requirements
- -Classic Blackjack and all Roulettes count 2% towards wagering requirements
- -All Aces Video Poker does not count towards wagering
That all seems pretty straight forward to me… Is there anything in particular there you think would confuse players? If so I would be happy to forward it over to the content team to revise…

Absolutely – I have requested a speedy for that one in particular..
If there’s anything else that isn’t clear about these promos, please let me know.. Chances are that if there are parts you guys don’t understand, there will be parts the players don’t understand too…
The more info I can give you the betterAlso, I can’t stress enough that it’s the player’s responsibility to read the T&Cs before they play. The websites have the full T&Cs listed, and the T&Cs pop up before the free play starts, so there’s no real excuse for not having read them… It may be a good idea to link to the T&Cs on your page with the promotion too.
Cheers guys :3eyes:

are you sure about this? it is not mentioned anywhere on the website. not even in the T&Cs.
it says that if players don’t win, they’ll get a spin on Second Chance Wheel. but nothing is mentioned of a deposit bonus…

No you don’t – at least not in ANY way that any fair advertising watchdog would agree with you …
It’s not $1000 free, it can’t ever turn into $1000 free, and the initial play is on a cutdown version of the casino … offering less than normal games and a worse player experience.
The buries T&C’s DO spell out to the player what to expect – but don’t match the headline banners – and the disappointment upon realisation does not translate to good signup ratios.

That’s the point – a newbie does well and then realises it’s a $200 limit.
And with a 30x playthrough rider. It’s not $1000 free – it’s not even close – and the restricted play system does not present your games in a good light to potential new customers either.
I expect to see conversion rates plummet accordingly. That’s been the pattern with other casinos that have done this. It’s an offer that fails to hit experienced players – and fails with newbies too.
:Cry:But … we will promote your offer to the best of our ability … maybe you’ll be the one casino that gets this offer to work ?!
:hattip:October 27, 2008 at 6:41 pm #784247LucretiaMemberwell it is not 1000 free :
T&C free play bonus
6.When can you claim your winnings? As soon as you have made 100 or more bets and won $20 over the original $1000, you will be eligible to claim your winnings into a real casino account.7.You will need to deposit a minimum of $40 into your casino account in order to claim your winnings.
So max = 200 – 40 = 160 (= max. 400% bonus on initial deposit if you do not withdraw ; you must do that within 7 days or winnings are void)
If you decline the free play you can choose $50 match ………Declined Free Play and Selected $50 FREE Instant Bonus
The Player acknowledges that in order to be eligible for any promotion or bonus, they must be playing with the primary currency used in the country where they have a registered address from where they are playing. The casino reserves the right to withhold bonuses resulting from deposits in any currency made in contradiction to this condition. An exception is made for USD and CAD to this clause. If I am from the UK and play in euros in stead of GBP what will happen ?

The wheel is designed to look random, however will always land on 50% up to $250.

The $1000 free and 1 hour to play is exactly that.. There is no deposit required to claim the $1000 and 1 hour. Every player that registers gets $1000 and 1 hour to play. If at the end of that 1 hour they decide not to deposit, they don’t have to and at not cost of their pocket. So if you look at it like that, the $1000 is free. The bonus WON from the $1000 requires a deposit. I guess we will have to agree to disagree about this one.. I can see your point of view. But I also see mine.
if you had to make a banner for the offer, how would you market it?
The version of the casino used is the guest account interface. Apart from having less games than the real player account interface, the games are exactly the same as playing for real money. If we could “edit” it, it would make more sense to make the players win more, dont you think?
Id also like to add that after looking through some other MGS free play offers, so far I am yet to find one that has a ratio of % to bonus better than ours..
Eg, one other place has a 500 free and 1 hour offer and you must deposit $50 to claim the 200. Another has 750 free with a $50 depsoit to claim the bonus. Another has 2008 free with $50 deposit to claim the bonus…
As I mentioned in an earlier post, most of our casinos have a $20 min deposit, which is a 1000% bonus on claiming the $200. CCC has a $50 min, and YG has a $40 min.
Also, as we do have 18 casinos, there are many other types of bonus you can offer your players.. You aren’t restricted to the free play offers.. Promote what works best for your traffic.. If the free spins offers aren’t converting for you, change it up and promote one of the other offers and keep changing until you find the one that works best for you.
Inspiration wrote:So max = 200 – 40 = 160 (= max. 400% bonus on initial deposit if you do not withdraw ; you must do that within 7 days or winnings are void)This is not correct. By depositing $40 to claim the free $200, you will have a total balance of $240, not $200. Thats a 500% bonus.
Inspiration wrote:If I am from the UK and play in euros in stead of GBP what will happen ?I’m pretty sure of the answer to this, but I will double check to make sure I’m correct… Stay tuned for more.

You know … I’d say something like …
Win up to $200 deposit bonus with one hour of FREE play to try our casino.
Win up to $200 deposit bonus playing with OUR cash.
Try the casino for FREE and win up to $200 deposit bonus.
FREE play at our casino for an hour – and win up to $200 deposit bonus.
Are you good enough to win the maximum $200 deposit bonus? /B]Etc, etc,
No point in mentioning the $1000 of starting chips – as they’re not really relevant to the player
– the starting $1000 can’t be banked
– you can’t win $1000
– the $1000 is taken backSo all mention of FREE $1000 is misleading. It’s a loan not a bonus.
:wink-winkLook, basically what you’re offering is a good offer, but by doing the old “bait n switch” it has an negative effect.
The customer had expectations raised to think maybe $1000 – and instead it’s ONLY $200?! WFT?!!
Instead if you stated FREE play and a maximum of $200 – then a $200 winner would be very pleased to know they’d done well. It’s all about expectations being raised too high.
