Police cleared protesters out of the path of Gov. Sarah Palin’s motorcade at a campaign appearance in Grand Junction on Oct. 20, 2008. (Charles Broshous | Special to the Post)
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Grand Junction police say they’re looking for several protesters who tried to stop the motorcade carrying Sarah Palin to a campaign rally in the city.
Police said the protesters waited until police motorcycles passed them and then rushed out in front of the other vehicles in the motorcade on Monday. Spokeswoman Kate Porras says the motorcycle officers stopped, turned around and got the protesters out of the way. However she says the officers didn’t arrest anyone because they had to return to their positions in the motorcade quickly.Video cameras mounted in police vehicles captured part of what happened and police are asking the public to help out with any pictures or video they might have.

Why didn’t they cuff them to a tree and come back later?
