“Millions of Americans suffer from problem or pathological gambling that can destroy families. We support the law prohibiting gambling over the Internet.”
Source: http://www.gop.com/2008Platform/Crime.htm
Short and sweet. Love the fact it’s on their “Crime” page :sarcasm: Are these people really that stupid? Or do they think the people of America are really that stupid? Or are the people of America really that stupid? (No offence) It’s gotta be 1 of the 3!
Surely someone somewhere in that party must see that regulation is the only sensible option to protect “pathological gamblers” from casinos that don’t give a sh*t. *sigh*
October 16, 2008 at 5:44 pm #782743AnonymousInactiveFunny how gambling got banned because the Democrats slipped that agenda into a bill and Bush was forced to sign it in order to get funds for the troops…

From the reply above you can see exctly how and WHY we are in the state that America is in today. :sarcasm:
Hopefully once Obama is our President we can start to correct the mistakes of the current “mentally challenged” pair in office and get America back on track!
Hillary said it best here.

Bill Frist was a Republican…or are you referring to something other than the UIGEA?
October 21, 2008 at 10:36 pm #783434AnonymousInactiveWasnt it a Democrat Governor who did that thing with the domain names in Kentucky?
I think he was.
October 21, 2008 at 10:43 pm #783437AnonymousInactiveI know I said this before, but in Calif, Dem Speaker Polisi is 100% anti online gaming and just think, she is only 2 people away from being president no matter who wins the election. LOL, wow would that be bad news or what, President polisi, Ms anti Gaming herself

Sure was. I guess every party will have anti-gambling representatives. Some will dress it up as family values, some as money motivated. Anyone know what the official Democrat stance is out of interest?
As an aside, I don’t think anyone should swap their vote one way or the other on the issue of gambling when there are so many other important things to worry about in the world today. It’s important to the industry, but small-fry in the larger scheme of things.
October 21, 2008 at 11:17 pm #783443vladcizsolMemberI think the condemnation for the Kentucky Governor was swift and sure here at CAP. I condemned his idiotic and un-American action too. See a few of these threads:

You are so right, I saw them, I was just comparing how different they would be if he was a republician, that was my only point, Do you know what i mean? As part of the Group you are trying to get ride of and I respect ypu professor and I’d like to think you dont personnaly mean me your trying to get rid of lol, I just look , I guess, for the bias and sterotyping of certain groups while you cant do it with others and what I was trying to point out was if he were a repiblican, would that and how would it have been potrayed.
I read the outrage on the action, but not the party is is from, could anyone here say if he was like me, a conseritive that it would not have been mentioned in an unkind way. You know, he’s not the only democrate against online gaming, I bet if you took a poll it would be close, but then again, I’m not as up on it as a lot of you. I can only talk about california and out here democrates are against online gaming, well not me lol, but you know what I mean.

I have no idea who your voting for, but either way, I think your statement was a very educated and important one.
October 22, 2008 at 11:59 am #783504AnonymousInactiveDo you really think Obama will save the industry? Nancy will calling the shots, cleqar and simple and you can kiss this all good bye..
The biggest threat we have is a Democratic President, House and senate.. And if you still can earn money your gonna take a crap when you make out a check for over 60% of your earnings..
