I think triple7 may have started a trend here guys..
August 27, 2008 at 1:49 pm #776921AnonymousInactiveLots of foreclosures these days.
We can’t feed everyone though….
August 27, 2008 at 3:14 pm #776934AnonymousInactiveYeah right you are on that
August 27, 2008 at 4:29 pm #776942AnonymousInactiveIt’s really very sad.
I was just sending my brother-in-law $400 to pay auto insurance so that he would not lose his job at Fed Ex. They live in California where everything is double what the rest of us pay with a huge mortgage.
Folks are losing their homes and jobs at a record pace these days.
August 27, 2008 at 10:58 pm #776980AnonymousInactiveI know and I just bought a home so I cannot help out as much as I wish I could with some of these people, plus having a 21 yr old not working and draining me is no help
Robin you have a heart of gold girl!
August 28, 2008 at 2:39 pm #777073vladcizsolMemberIts the perfect financial storm for affiliates. First we get smashed by UIGEA and the pull out of many our top programs from the US. I saw a five figure loss a month when the Playtechs, Wagershare and Party Poker bailed on us.
Couple that with wild inflation, Gas prices that are insane. tightening credit, utter destruction in the real estate market and all the other things 8 years with the Republicans brought on and you see its the perfect financial storm.
I feel terrible for people who are struggling and wish I could do more, but I am taking a huge hit along with them and like Dom said we cant feed everyone.
I think the best we can do is be emotionally supportive as they go through these hard times and I think we will see a MAJOR turn around in 2009 if we can get Obama into office. God help us and the country if McSame is elected as McCain is personally opposed to online gaming and will destroy whats left of our economy.
August 28, 2008 at 5:11 pm #777097AnonymousInactiveThanks Christine,
I’m going thru my savings these days and it sucks! To top it off when I got my house some idiot did not calculate the taxes properly and pushed my mortgage up by $373 in June for a year taking me to $2,200 a month.
I’m just beside myself with anger because I wanted to say under 2k, but there seems to be nothing that I can do but pay it.
I’ve decided to share more of my affiliate accounts with my staff so that they will feel motivated to help out more so that I can earn more. I hope it works.
I pray to GOD that Obama make office and does something to change things around for our industry! I really enjoy what I do and do not want to change fields, but if I did have to atleast I can fall back on my programming and web design skills that I’m trying so hard to improve.
August 28, 2008 at 9:56 pm #777118AnonymousInactiveI am praying for Obama as well and I plan to push my members to get off their asses and go vote!
I give my girls the poker and bingo room to make money with their own affiliate accounts and we have them on a salary it works out good BUT you have to stay on them and ride them at times Robin or they just take it for granted. Some of the girls are too lazy to market for themselves too which makes no sense since they can ride the traffic the Streak gets for free.
I am hitting my savings too and that totally sucks big time. I know it has to be hard on some of you that are in a much more expensive state then me, Carol my partner in NY is thinking of moving states cos of the expenses their.

I will be definatly be emailing my members regularly right before the election in hopes that we can take the White house back!
I hear ya about the lazy part LOL I have a couple girls that is content with earning off a couple old accounts that generate income for them and they don’t do anything else.
Another one is ambitious but has no html or webmaster skills what so ever and can barly merge a post at the forum. I saw the other day where he asked a member to repost their request in the right thread in order to get submitted for credit and I about lost it LMAO but he is always there and very dependable so I put up with it.
Just got a new lady last month who has no affiliate experience, but is a very hard worker, ready to learn and wants to make money so I’m happy with her and just gave her 10 programs to work with of folks that have been pestering me to sign up with them.
I have my top programs that I keep for myself, but for the majority of them I share with a staff member where I give them 25% of what I get and it seems to work out well. I doubt I’ll ever get a “partner” per say because I’ve had nightmare experiences in the past.
You are very lucky to have Carol as she is a hard worker and a good person all around just like yourself.
August 29, 2008 at 12:42 am #777152AnonymousInactiveI have people with families and mortgages working for me, and they prefer a set amount every month so that’s the way I do it. If I have a windfall, I give out bonuses. And I fly everyone to Vegas twice a year and give them some play money. Plus I take one or two of them to conferences and they have fun.
I think solid staff is the most important thing to have, so I invest in them what I can. Plus, if I didn’t, taxes would absolutely kill me. I’d very much rather give them a bonus than be knocked back up into a higher tax bracket.
As far as personal finances go, I avoid debts like the plague. So I don’t get to deduct mortgage interest, but like I said, I’d rather give the money to staff anyway, and it helps knock down the taxes either way. The very first thing I did was to pay off all debt. It just makes me feel safe and like I can weather all the storms life tends to dish out.
I have worked for myself for over thirty years now and lost my ass twice. While I prefer not to lose everything, I’d still always rather be my own boss, ups and downs are par for the course.
August 29, 2008 at 1:25 am #777156AnonymousInactiveI like the set amount idea and hope to get to that point eventually. I do give them all a small base salary though for thier moderating tasks. I also provided a desktop for my mom and a laptop for another person that only had one they shared with a spouse. I do like the idea of having them for tax relief so I utilize every break I can get.
I did the interest only loan so that helps me out, but I definately plan on paying the house off the first chance I get.
August 29, 2008 at 2:10 pm #777192AnonymousInactiveInterest only loans can be a bit treacherous – I would try to pay a bit towards the principal everytime I can to get that down a bit. They are useful though when we have fluctuating income, on a short month we have less expenses that way and on a good one we can make up for it. It evens things out if handled right…
When you have a good year, watch that tax bracket like a hawk. I got blindsided one year – what a mess that was. Taught me a lesson.
August 30, 2008 at 9:58 pm #777346AnonymousInactiveThanks Dom once again you come through with awesome advise. I was lucky with my loan I got the FHA locked in loan for 30 yrs but I figure if I double the payments for 4yrs I will have it paid off, I love doing that shit it really pisses them off when they don’t get that interest

I am sorry but I think she is making this a habit and she should be told to stop doing this in a nice way, it makes people feel uncomfortable, sorta like when you walk into a store and someone ask hey I have a 20 gift card and I will let it got for 15 bucks….
October 7, 2008 at 2:14 pm #781490AnonymousInactiveYep, I saw that early this morning as we NOT happy about it. She emaild me a couple weeks go with reason for not paying me back and I told her to not worry about it and keep, but I will not be giving anymore to the same person.
I also had giggles email me again last week asking for more and I turned her down so they do need to be told that this is not cool and will set a precident for others.
What hit me the wrong way as that in her reply she said the following:
i am only asking people who i think make thousands and thousands of dollars,
