    BETFRED JOINS GAMEACCOUNT CLIENT LIST
Multi year skill games deal signed

The UK online skill gaming provider GameAccount signed another major bookmaking company up this week in a multi year licensing deal with Betfred which will see the bookie’s Betfred.com website equipped with a suite of peer-to-peer and tournament gin rummy, multiplayer blackjack and poker dice games.

Betfred is the fourth largest bookmaker in Britain, and joins a stellar list of GameAccount sports betting clients that includes Stan James, William Hill, Sportingbet Europe, Victor Chandler International, BlueSquare, BoyleSports, and Paddy Power.

Nick Mounteer, head of operations at Betfred, commented: “We see head-to-head games as the next key products to add to our established gaming portfolio and complement our sportsbook, and are excited about implementing these emerging games. Having examined the experience and technical capabilities of all potential suppliers, we believe GameAccount to be the market leader and are delighted to be joining their network.”

Dermot Smurfit, chief operating officer at GameAccount, said the deal with Betfred represented the third licensing agreement signed with an operator working on the Finsoft sports technology platform, following deals with Stan James and Boylesports earlier this year.

“We feel we have reached a stage where we are now able to roll out our products in a streamlined way for Finsoft licensees. Betfred’s timing is excellent, following our major software upgrade taking our award-winning software to the next evolutionary stage and the release of head-to-head Poker Dice, already a firm favourite among players,” he said.

Smurfit added that with the online poker sector under pressure from sites that continued to take US bets, his firm would seek to develop demand for GameAccount’s products in regulated markets by partnering with poker operators to build new revenue streams.

“Our games enable our blue-chip corporate customers to mine a strong seam of demand for these emerging games in regulated markets. Our licensees and the number of players online at peak times demonstrates our proposition to any operator seeking person-to-person games business ‘Beyond Poker’,” said Smurfit.

The GameAccount games portfolio comprises around 30 games, of which the key games for eGaming operators are Backgammon, Multiplayer Blackjack, Gin Rummy and Poker Dice (Dominoes are scheduled for inclusion in the European summer 2008).
