Russian Roulette!
Man Utd v Chelsea – Champions League Final
Money-Back Special
If Ronaldo scores in normal time, Paddy Power will refund ALL losing single pre-match Win-Draw-Win, Correct Score, 1st/last/anytime goalscorer and Half-time/Full-time market bets on this match.May 20, 2008 at 9:44 am #768139DanmanMemberDon’t wish to big up a competitor in any way, but if you want to make watching what will be an appalling game worthwhile, Paddys have a great commentary cliche market.
You can definitely envisage the ever-witty Gerald Sinstadt blurring out “They’ll be turning red square blue tonight” if Chelsea pull off a miracle.
Cheers,
Tom

Can’t stand that Gerald Sinstadt. He telegraphs his cliches so much – you can see them coming a mile off. He prob thinks it’s clever and inventive but it’s just plain Lazy.
You can’t beat Barry Davies, IMHO. Forever marginalised by the BBC and cast in the shadow of that Autistic, SheepSkin coat-wearing, Spaz of a Stat-Bot; John Motson!
Davies had Poetry and eloquence. He understood that, sometimes, a silence could be as telling a description as a commentary.
That’s it.
Normal Service is Resumed

May 20, 2008 at 10:25 am #768141wtgbingoMemberFill your boots with ” first all English final”, it’ll be said within the first few minutes, I reckon.
Bet you have no idea what the favourite is “759” @ 9-2. But it’s unlikely they’ll say that until Giggs comes off the bench

God I actually sound like I know what I’m talking about….

Ooops, managed to get my ITV commentators-with-funny-names confused… it is of course Clive Tyldesley who will be doing the business in Moscow.
Still a cracking good market… now if only I could have a bet on it… Sinead, Paddys seem to have locked my account. Not amused!
May 20, 2008 at 12:46 pm #768154ZlzmbmaxMemberDid I say Gerald?
I meant Clive!
May 22, 2008 at 2:32 pm #768299VdpcevnjMemberWell lads, I hope you had all your bets on with us and if you did the first round is on you at the next conference
May 22, 2008 at 2:57 pm #768302DanmanMemberI got my bet on ‘First all-English Final’ in the commentary cliche market… checked several times today and the result is still pending as far as I can see. Fintan, is there a stewards enquiry in to what Clive Tyldesley actually said?
May 22, 2008 at 3:41 pm #768307VdpcevnjMemberHi Tom
This was settled ages ago, the winning phrase was “Fittingly 50 years since Munich”.
If its still flagged as pending in your account PM me your username and I will get someone in customer service to sort it out.
Cheers
Fintan
