    Hi,

I represent (and co-own) a major portal and poker community (non English) and we are considering selling the website.

    – About The Site –

The site was initially launched in 2000 and has been leading the market ever since. Our site has great brand recognition, not only by players, but also by the local media and casinos.

We offer our players daily news and strategy articles, as well as tournament results and schedules, and a complete international player database. Also, we have over 100 player blogs, 200,000 forum posts and 6,000 members.

We have a monthly column in a local magazine, which is an equivalent of “Maxim” in the US (highly targeted for male 18-35). We get media requests both from print and television, and I (as also a professional poker player) have gotten in front of the cameras several times to promote the site. Basically, whenever poker makes the news around here, we get a media request. And finally, poker was just recently introduced in the local casinos, so we expect poker to grow locally in the near future.

We have a high quality site, and we have a team of dedicated journalists and forum moderators to ensure our site runs smoothly.

    – Moving Forward –

If you are interested in getting more info, please PM or send an email to frank1poker1 @ gmail . com with:

    – your name
    – company info
    – major websites owned

First, we’ll have you sign a confidentiality agreement and then we will send you the traffic and revenue details, and any other info you might request.

*** Serious purchasers only – 5 digits monthly revenue. ***

    Best regards,

    Frank

Figured out which website it is. I’ve linked to it here previously as an example of website which has media attention and nothing is done against them. They even have government ads on the website..

A great purchase business wise, but good luck dealing with the owner and his partners, which are jackasses online and offline.

If you speak french or have a french team (don’t bother otherwise), you may look into it. Website used to be centered around a person so the transition won’t be smooth unless you already know the website. Imho.

I can speak and write french, can someone confirm that this is a website for France?

I also find it odd that the URL is not released, that is not how you make a sale.

I too also find this odd. If I was a potential buyer, I would be put off by the headline and the post.

“Considering selling” tells me that the person wants to sell it for more than what they think it’s worth and if they can get that, they’ll sell it. At least for me as a potential buyer, that’s how I read it.

Simply put, sign the confidentiality agreement and we’ll tell you everything.

I understand where he is coming from – when a company is potentially for sale it has to often be confidential in the early stages especially if you are privy to a lot of confidential information that goes hand in hand with that particular company.

In addition this site may have a number of employees that aren’t at this early stage aware of the sale….

There could be all sorts of reasons for his motivations which I am not going to guess at but I am sure (hope) they are valid

It’s still stupid to ask you to give out YOUR informations before knowing anything about it.

Anyway, I know the website and it can be an interesting deal if they don’t ask for multiple years worth of income. I was going to post it but it would have been impolite. PM me if you want to know the address. You can check it out and make your own mind about whether or not it’s even worth it signing up their confidentiality papers.
