RickApril 18, 2008 at 11:09 am #765976aaronsmithMemberI have had one or two offers but would still like to put it out to everyone that my site is f still for sale asking price $10,000 and leaving me with a 25% share in the sites revenue.
April 19, 2008 at 3:47 pm #766076stevejMemberHi Rob,
You might have better luck selling if you exit completely. I know I’ve been in some tricky ownership situations before. If you sell the site and maintain 25% ownership, then whoever buys it does 100% of the development work, right? and they also have to do the monthly accounting or whatever, right? it’s a good deal for you then, but the buyer will find themselves tied to you a little bit.
So I’m just saying bigger affiliates would be more interested in picking up your property with no strings attached.
Although I personally think you might get more out of your site by developing it at leisure and keeping it yourself. I bet it will do better and better as time goes by.
Nice site!
April 19, 2008 at 5:38 pm #766084AnonymousInactiveAlternatively, if you’re looking for 25% rev share as a parachute payment then perhaps limiting this period to 6 or 12 months would entice more offers.
April 19, 2008 at 6:59 pm #766085aaronsmithMemberI have decided not to sell and will be staying in this industry for at least another year
April 19, 2008 at 7:50 pm #766087AnonymousInactiveThe website is nice and was interesting me, but try to focus less on advertisement revenue. It’s good to kickstart the website and get you money to reinvest, but it isn’t attractive for a buyer.
Welcome back and good luck
PS: Who designed it for you?

April 19, 2008 at 10:35 pm #766092LucretiaMemberHi Rob,
Odd to say I am thinking about leaving the industry after you decided not to. Good to see you back.
I have some health problems which are surfacing again, so I will see how it will develop.Rick
April 20, 2008 at 11:41 am #766113aaronsmithMemberI hope your ok and wish you all the support you need. I was made some offers by some forum members and thanks alot for the offers but since talking to some old friends here at CAP I have decided to work hard for another year. I am sure “inspiration” if you keep on with your site to it will prove alot better but health problems are the most important and if it means selling your site perhaps that is the best thing to do as your health is first.
April 20, 2008 at 3:49 pm #766124AnonymousInactiveWhy were you selling? Not generating enough money?
This is just my opinion, it’s worth what it’s worth, but the best way to start in the online businesses is part-time, after work (or at work in my case, since I could write articles while at work).
It’s not like a brick and mortar store in a mall, where naturally people will come to you and you should generate revenues right from the beginning. It’s more like a store in the middle of 1 million other stores, and it takes a long time before generating enough money to live off of it decently.
I guess what I want to say is get a job that’s flexible and still lets you work on your websites until they grow further.
April 20, 2008 at 5:12 pm #766130LucretiaMemberthanks Rob yes health is more important than being an affiliate.
At the moment I am feeling a bit better, maybe because of the nice weather and the fresh air.
I decided not to give up because regardless of the ups and downs I experienced I like it to much.
trafic is down 50% but I have experienced this several times and I have always been able to get it back and more.
