On this, to be honest the reason it bothered me so much was because I was worried about this section here being infiltrated. That’s what made me fret. I thought my home away from home had been invaded.

That said, I think it might be (not my business first of all) but a good idea to smooth it over. I am so happy that the old GPWA vs CAP crap was behind us…. I’d hate to see it started up again. Especially with Corfman behind the helm, I imagine it could get ugly if not pacified.

Of course I am not involved, not the best business person, etc, I’d just hate to see anyone get more bruised up than they already are.

But then again you have a good team and I am sure you will deal with it properly. Thanks for taking care of the nest!!

Tarzan believe me no one is more surprised or disappointed by all this then I am. I thought we had a good relationship with Michael and the new staff at GPWA I cant understand for the life of me why he did this.

We have done everything above board with GPWA and Michael. We invited them to our events and provided them with a booth, we allowed them to distribute their magazines at our events, we allowed them to solicit our clients at our events and we charged them NOTHING! It was all done in good faith and we were agast at what happened today.

To further exasperate the situation Michael made an extremely unprofessional and crass post to Alex within that damned thread and it added wood to the fire.

Beleive me when I say we had no idea this was coming, we didnt authorize him to do what he did, he never mentioned it to us. We did NOT start this feud up but we cant allow our company and staff to be abused and used for Michael’s self promotion.

Initially I was told Michael is harmless he’s just a nerd and didnt mean anything then his subsequent actions lead me to believe differently. Its up to him to mend the damage we are the injured party here.

I hate to see this all happening too but I can understand the anger as well, I did not see the remark towards Alex, if I had I would let my mouth go off I am sure..lol Alex is a top notch guy and a friend to me so maybe it is a good thing I didn’t see that.

I have no concerns about this area of the forum being breached, over the yrs nothing has ever come out of this room that we talk about, if it ever does I feel sorry for the doer because their days at cap would be done and a ruined rep in this biz will do you in for sure.

Well with that said CAP is my home and I will be staying away from GPWA until this is all settled.

One thing that did bug me, I think it was last week I have to ask Dom for sure but there was a thread over there about Grand Pricks and I got a bit upset at how the members were allowed to dog us over here and talk shit on us, I have never seen anyone at CAP speak like that about GPWA members and I was a bit shocked to say the least and of course went and defended Dom, was like jumping into a lions den.roflmaooooooo

Haha, I have been persona non grata at GPWA for years.

Anyone defending me gets burned, nothing new there.

It’s really only a couple of people, but they are very vocal and always on the trigger.

It’s kind of sad that a couple of people can dominate opinion like that for years, but as you saw, anyone speaking up about it is argued to death so nothing to be done about it.

I am sure the Professor and Michael will settle this one way or another.

I doubt our little private section here will be breached.

I think this was done in very poor taste. When I read the GPWA news letter at first I thought what the fuck is going on and then I realized it was a hoax. Lou has every right to be mad at Corfman and I personally would be to.

Thats the kind of negativity, mean spiritedness and petty behavior that made most of us leave GPWA long ago. When Michael took over I had high hopes that they had entered a new era and that he would keep things positive and out of the mud, but he either a) lacks the strength or fortitude to do anything about it or b) He secretly approves of this bullshit.

I should have known better when he continued to allow Sniper attacks on myself and CAP to go on in their public areas without really doing anything about it until a lot of emotional damage and stress was generated for me and the staff. I can only imagine what goes on in private.

I seriously hope the decent people that are members over there will wake up and smell the bitter burned coffee they are brewing at GPWA these days and take the higher road and spend their time at CAP instead of supporting that kind of bad behavior.

This was not in the private area either that was the shocker of it. I know that someone on the staff had to read the post because there were like 12 pgs and many CAP hatters in on the whole thing, in fact the whole thread was derailed from GP onto the reasons everyone was banned from CAP, and seeing how they were acting over there I can see why some were banned :(

Somehow I didnt see that. I dont visit there much and no one told me that was going on. It obvious there is bad blood at GPWA and they are allowing if not promoting it. Sad. You know what? When you allow your community to sink into a negative hateful place it poisons the atmosphere and the real affiliates leave. You end up with an uncomfortable cess pool. Thats why I ban a small number of people when I see they are negative and just want to run things down rather then build things up. Hope Michael enjoys whats hes crafting over there. The negative people will burn him some day too.

CAP will continue to put its efforts into elevating affiliates, making sure you guys get great parties and events, quality news and publications and presenting an image of affiliates as valuable professionals that the programs will WANT to work with. We do everything in our power to make things BETTER for affiliates and we always give back to the community. ASOP is a great example. Who else offers affiliates a pot of $20,000 in cash and prizes four times a year? GPWA? We certainly DONT deserve that abuse at GPWA.

Arrggh time for my meds and bed. What a day!

I agree with all the sentiments here. I also left the GPWA what five years ago now? time is slipping! and I have made my home here with my friends :inlove: — glad to be here, too!

I’m just being wishful that this dies down and doesn’t erupt any further to avoid having the good professor get bogged down or stressed out. Especially in light of health issues. I have a lot of stress in my life, and its not good. I don’t want to see anyone of us get hammered by any extra stress.

That said, its downright wrong to calculate something like the above without checking with those you are involving. Especially when it comes to publishing their names in something that’s not exactly true.

Here is to the CAP members who make this place so great!!

And here is to seeing more and more of the Captain recently!!

We all love CAP here :) That’s one joining factor. CAP is the first place I check in the morning (yeah, even before AGD – is that wrong?) :)

    Here are my thoughts:

This whole thing was blown way out of proportion. Before anyone gets angered, just read on…

There is no way Michael had bad intentions when doing this. He did the same thing for Bodog and it was pretty funny. Yes, the initial thread was shocking and people thought it was true at first – but when you read, it was an obvious hoax. Despite what was said (somewhere above), Michael DOES defend CAP on GPWA and has even asked posters to refrain from bashing. I can’t remember the thread(s), but I remember it happening.

It was intended as a joke and, though not a smart move probably, it was not an ill-intentioned one. I have no doubt in my mind of this whatsoever.

I did NOT read the ‘Alex Thread’, but I can only say that once animosity begins – it can affect the way anyone posts. Michael probably should have re-read his post and toned down whatever ‘tone’ he might have had.

Basically, my thoughts are….. Let’s just all be friends! I think we all know, if we let ourselves think about it in an unclouded manner, that this wasn’t meant as anything more than a joke… and since we know this – why let it fester?

    Imagine all the people
Living life in peace… wooo hooo hooo oooo ooo

    :)

I have been thinking on this a lot too and I just hate to see this happening, I don’t think it was done with bad intentions either, it was a joke gone really bad.

I guess in these crazy times we I would like to see everyone get along and stick together in these hard times of online gaming.

I would like to see the CAP haters get a leash on their mouths more often though over there, like I said before there is none of that going on here.

Michael needs to get tough and if he don’t have the heart to do it he needs to hire a tough Admin, there is a way to toughen up without becoming a total dick and turning your members away.

Any how I hope this is all worked out soon :)

From what I can tell it was a hoax and Michael did not realize the consequences of what happened.

I realize this might have pissed some people off, but I think the lesson was learned on his end, and there is no point in dragging this out.

I was personally a little confused with the humor. After I saw the news about GPWA buying out Bodog, I sort of ignored the news section after as I was not sure what was real or not anymore.

Either way, I think the best approach would be to meet up in person, sit down, and have a beer, its too easy to misunderstand one another and the context of what is said over the internet.

    Hi all,

I’m pretty quick to defend Lou and Dom and I’d have been on this had it not been for the Bodog thing.

At the risk of heated debate I cannot think he had ill intent when this was done.

Seems to me he set precedent when Bodog happened and getting a jovial response from bodog ….. well I think he was having a good time and didn’t stop and think.

I always try to see the good in people and give them benefit of doubt when able because I need that in my life. I make mistakes. I say the wrong thing at times.

But I’d also be one of the first people there to lend a helping hand when you needed it. So what I’m saying is that one or two mistakes do not a person make.

I go to both places though CAP is home. I really haven’t felt any anger or subtle hints at bad blood though i may be shielded because I am loyal to CAP.

Even if true there is a between the lines issue still brewing between the two entities … i don’t think this incident had anything to do with any of that.

as I said, the bodog deal kinda set precedent as being that he truly had no ill intention and in a way its flattering that he chose to single out CAP although I know none of it worked out that way.

I’d like to see this let go and in the best interest of all parties just learn and don’t do it again and move on.

I’m sorry for those that were offended or put at any risk but I just don’t see any gain in hovering over the issue. Be nice if Mr C made an apology to help smooth the road but in the end what’s important is that we all work together enough …… to accomplish our greater goals which we all need to survive in this cut-throat climate where we have enough against us with conservative law makers, cheating and non paying aff programs and the never-ending search for site exposure that we just don’t need something else on our plates.

Guys its a little more complicated then just a joke. I know Most of us have the capacity to shake this off as a joke, and I could have possibly done so in the past too when it was just me and CAP. But CAP is owned by a corporation now and it is big business.

As Majority share holder I have a responsiblity to protect our “brand” in the market place, this is something we take very very seriously and you have always seen me doggedly defend CAP when I felt we were wronged.

I also have an obligation as a division manager to protect my employees, I also take this role very seriously.

I enjoy joking around as much or more that just about anybody and do try to keep things light. You have seen how I always have fun and post funny pics when I can slip them in without derailing a thread. I also have no problem working with GPWA, we have done so in the past and will hopefully do so in the future.

When I am aware that we are exchanging jokes and and invloved in a JOINT promotion I dont take offense to some good natured jabs. Remember the threads during the Battle of The Forums Slots Tournament?

The reason this is very serious is for the following:

    1. I have to defend our brand, it’s what helps feed a staff of 30 and their families. Imagine for a second that Checkers unexpectadly came out with an ad that Blared “Checkers Purchases McDonalds and Burger King!”. Do you think the President of McDonalds or Burger King would say “Ah, no harm done, those Checkers guys were just playing around” ? Would THEIR shareholders accept that? I can guarantee you there would be MAJOR lawsuits filed and justifilably so as Checkers was trying to play off of an established name brand and industry leader as a means of promotion for their business.

    2. It’s been stated by Michael, and I guess he believes this, that a number of our staff and officers are already publically listed at AFFILIATEPROGRAMS.COM. While that is true it’s a totally seperate division/property that we own that primarily works in the RETAIL SECTOR.

We DO NOT have a list of that sorts posted here at CAP and that’s by decision not chance. Let’s face it CAP operates in an area that does NOT enjoy a favorable states with the DOJ at present. We have always felt that a low key approach was the safest way to proceed. It’s our right to do so if that’s what we choose and if that’s what makes our staff more comfortable. Please understand we are the largest and most highly visible community serving this sector. We already carry around a large enough bullseye as it is.

How many of YOU post your full names and the names of any staff you might employ on your gaming related websites?

    3. A private meeting that Warren had with Michael was discussed publically without our consent. This simply ISN’T done in business. It’s poor form and how the hell does it make the spoof funnier? It doesn’t and was unnecessary.

It raises serious questions about what will or will not be held in confidence when doing business with GPWA and when any discussions or meetings might be announced publically within the context of a “joke”. This breach of the most basic business decorum is unacceptable and not funny. It’s my responsiblity to react negatively to such behavior so that it doesn’t happen to others who do business with GPWA.

Any responsible business operator would do this if the same thing happened to them.

    4. While I would love to believe everything that happens at GPWA in the forum areas is done in jest that isn’t always the case. Some of it IS malicious.

Despite numerous complaints by myself and requests to stop it, Michael and his moderators allow people to continually attack CAP and myself or our staff.

This goes on over and over and NOTHING generally gets done about it. We STILL see Joeyl and iScami/Arkyt/CaseyEnos slandering CAP and saying I am a “database seller” This obviously is done to damage me and CAP. Its trumped up bullshit from supposedly a single post made years ago, which I didnt make, but it goes on and on. What I find offensive is it’s permitted by the GPWA Mods and these “posters” aren’t even private members. They are snipers. Anyone who knows CAP at ALL knows we dont promote database sales. Never have, never will.

If a business such as McDonalds allowed a group of three or four lunatics to throw rocks at cars in the neighboring Bruger King drive up they would be SUED. If they allowed this same group of lunatics to parade around in their parking lot with signs stating “Burger King has has worms in their burgers! ” they would be SUED.

As a business operator (Thats what CAP and GPWA are) you have a responsibilty to govern what takes place on your property. This is NOT being done at GPWA and the intent of the posters is CLEAR. They want to damage CAP and myself.

By “innocently” letting these handful of posters to continue this abuse it shows the GPWA staff must either think it’s another “joke” or they are tolerating it in the belief that by damaging CAP it improves their position in the marketplace. It’s not funny, its not acceptable and it has to stop for there to be peace.

If Michael and I can work through these issues privately and there is meaningful progress made I will be thrilled to work with GPWA. The members of GPWA are more then welcome here at CAP and this does not effect them whatsoever. Our decision is directed at the BUSINESS and staff that operates GPWA.

A simple “Uh, we were just joking” isnt enough. I hope you guys can understand where CAP is coming from and don’t just view this as “CAP has no sense of Humor”. With honest effort made by GPWA we can get past this. I have every confidence that is what will happen in the very near future.

    Thanks
