Has CAP been acquired by GPWA?
http://www.gpwa.org/forum/gpwa-acquires-cap-lyceum-media-174511.html
This is very strange – be interesting to hear the opinions!
February 28, 2008 at 12:21 am #762023AnonymousInactiveI announce our newest round of acquisition activities on facebook. Our new acquisitions of CAP and Lyceum media make our acquisition of Calvin Ayre, as the CEO of BoDog last week, seem like childsplay (for more details on our Bodog acquisition, see the thread GPWA Acquires Bodog!).
Once again we’ve used the popular “Friends for Sale!” facebook application. The application has well over a half million users on a daily basis, and has allowed us to acquire all of the key players in CAP and Lyceum Media as “pets.”
Friends for sale on facebook.
February 28, 2008 at 12:23 am #762024moneyggirlMemberApparently you didn’t read the entire post…
Our “acquisitions” of CAP and Lyceum Media and Bodog might be just for fun, but the applications we are developing on facebook will change the way you think of affiliate marketing. We’ll be making the first in a series of major announcements at CAC Amsterdam. I hope to see you there!
It’s a Facebook thing.
February 28, 2008 at 12:28 am #762029AnonymousInactiveLOL … Michael is ruthless on Crackbook!!! Just plain hostile!
February 28, 2008 at 12:28 am #762030AnonymousInactiveSo, now what is going to happen? Will people be fired? Will Bodog and CAP and PAP change their names and sites? Will it just be GPWA?
Stay tuned…
February 28, 2008 at 1:03 am #762034AnonymousInactiveMaybe I need a new sense of humour or something because I didn’t see this as funny
I actually thought it must be genuine ‘cos the e-mail content from GPWA stopped short of explaining that it was just a Facebook thing.
February 28, 2008 at 1:26 am #762038AnonymousInactiveyea, i’ld have to agree that it wasn’t too funny…imho, gpwa is a bit hostile anyways…
February 28, 2008 at 1:53 am #762041AnonymousInactivePassing it as real news (it’s in their newsletter) is retarded.
February 28, 2008 at 1:55 am #762042AnonymousInactiveGlad it wasn’t just me then.
February 28, 2008 at 3:33 am #762045AnonymousInactiveNaa…. it was all in good fun and no harm, the peps over there are very nice, few bad apples but all forums have them around so I feel it is not fair to base an opinion on the whole group because a few who don’t have manners…
Anyway you all should have faith in the Professor, do you really think he would have allowed a take over…lmaooo as if!! I could see CAP being the one doing the taking over of things but I am biased since this is my home away from home.. :wavey:
February 28, 2008 at 5:39 am #762047stevejMemberIt freaked me out a bit for some reason when I saw that, too. It was tricky because of the mention of the Warren visit to GPWA trying to buy it…
I’d say all in good fun… but my face did melt a little bit. Especially since I think it is much better to have two diverse groups than one big mammoth.
Cheers
February 28, 2008 at 5:54 am #762049AnonymousInactiveSo this isn’t true afterall??
February 28, 2008 at 6:24 am #762050stevejMemberIt is true that it is true in the facebook world…. but it is not true in the world in which we are living….
i.e. Mr. Corfman is not in the Fabiano mansion right now.
February 28, 2008 at 2:17 pm #762070vladcizsolMemberWhile I believe this was done in good fun, I wasnt particularly appreciative of how this was distributed via the GPWA newsletter. The headline and lead text are misleading and I am sure a lot of people, especially for those whom English is not their native language, will be confused.
Also, not be a stick in the mud and with no reflection on Michael or GPWA who were just having fun, I find the concept of buying and selling human beings as pets offensive. Sadly this does occur for real in many third world countries to this day and tens of thousands of women and children are victimized. I think a parody of this is in very poor taste on the part of Facebook.
No hard feelings, but I wish we could have fun in a more constructive manner.
February 28, 2008 at 2:30 pm #762071AnonymousInactiveLittle does he know iGaming Business isn’t even owned by Lyecum Media – We are actually part of a UK PLC on floated on AIM – Lets hope the stock market doesn’t get wind that we were “purchased”
