Internet Gambling Hearing to be Held Nov 14 by House Judiciary Committee
The intentions of the Judiciary Hearing are to find out if there can be rules to fairly and effectively mete out laws concerning regulation in order to get rid of the current prohibition.
November 14, 2007 at 7:46 pm #754040AnonymousInactiveThe House Judiciary Committee Hearings held today had extensive testimony where much debate over the current, future and past state of Internet gambling was heard.
This is the first article we wrote covering the Hearings, but expect more as the day goes on.
The Hearing started at approximately 10:15 am and ended at approximately 2:30 pm. There were two breaks for House members on the panel to go vote on other legislation on the House floor.

In fact she did declare this, but she also said it was legal for US citizens to gamble online. Confused yet?
What actually happened at the hearing is that Ms. Hanaway contradicted herself many times. When asked if she, and the Department of Justice, considered all online gambling to be illegal, she said she believed it was. When asked if it was illegal for US citizens to gamble online, she said, no, that there are currently no federal laws that prohibit any US citizens from placing a bet online…
If her testimony can be concluded into a sentence it would be this… Internet gambling is legal for US citizens to participate in, but it is illegal for any company to accept or facilitate wagers if the online gambling is deemed illegal.
