I just got my small CasinoBlasters January commission check returned as unpaid by my bank, stamped “Refer To Maker”.
“Refer to Maker” is sort of a generic return code that basically is used for fraud or unspecified problems in processing a transaction. The check was drawn on a US bank, so apparently the account in question has been disabled or something.
So, if you’re in similar circumstances, don’t rely on the money actually being there.
