Vegas Affiliates has been decertified from CAP due to lack of funds available to pay their certification fees.

Once they change their affiliate management and get back on their feet, we will welcome them back.

Please PM me with any questions.

    Cheers,

You’ve got to be shitting me. Well since I have not been around the block like some of you, what does this mean in respect to paying affiliate commissions. I mean, if they can’t handle a simple fee here, is it a given they can’t handle the thousands and thousands they owe affiliates right now? Or should I be looking at this differently?

Nevermind, Henry just made a post about commissions in another thread. I have faith he will get it done.

This is bad .Will this be a trend and CAP seen as unnecessary expense? Two programs gone since the january 27 meetings !

The sad fact is the market is contracting and affiliate programs are seeing a major reduction in capital. Unfortunately they will be cutting expenditures wherever they can so that they can survive long enough to either replace the revenues they lost or effect a sell out to a better capitalized operation.

Consolidation and closures will be a sad fact in 2007.

I would look at membership here at CAP as a barometer of where a program is at in terms of cash flow and stability. If they cant pay the light bill to stay here I would take that as an ominous sign of where they are heading in the future.

I don’t think so … naturally the companies that weren’t anticipating the loss of the US market and weren’t funded well enough in preparation for the change will need to cut some corners, and unfortunately that will affect affiliates and their communities such as CAP. The consistent problems from VA (we have numerous complaints about their affiliate manager, Henry) and some of the other guys that we’ve severed ties with should indicate the same.

Most of the well-established programs are here to stay and plan to work with us as the industry adapts and grows into other markets.

Bloody hell – how much is the “certification fee” ?!!!

To decide that CAP is not a valuable and valid expense seems CRAZY – and does not speak well for Vegas Affiliates.

I’m probably gonna get chased off the board and given a damn good kicking for even suggesting this, but if more progs don’t renew their memberships then how would we feel about charging affiliates for membership? Say $100 a year or something? Good idea? Crap idea?

Gooner its a rediculously low fee. Most programs pay us far less then what a single small affiliate of theirs earns a month.

Fiction we will not charge affiliates for CAP or our magazines or events. That’s been our core policy since day one and thats not going to change.
What we will do is expand the market into Europe and Asia and help our exisiting partners to prosper. We will be fine. It’s a bumpy road for everyone right now, but I have faith that things will smooth out and we will then see healthy growth again. We all just gotta hang in there.

Has anyone else submitted ACH and Click2Pay details to VA and still NOT been paid for December? I was told my payment had been sent out on the 12th, but still nothing as of yet.

The problem of course is that many people are still owed December and January commissions by VA. I’d venture to guess that not having Henry around to answer questions drastically decreases most people’s comfort level.

I feel confident that Henry is a good guy and a straight shooter. I suspect that he’s probably at wit’s end with all that’s going on both in the industry and at VA, Still, it would be nice to hear something from him, even if just to say to those whom he had earlier promised that the proverbial check was in the mail that they have not been overlooked.

In light of this, it’s very unfortunate that VA has been decertified. Perhaps Professor (as a service to CAP members) might consider keeping their forum open for replies just a little longer so past due payments can be worked out?

You post a good point, however, they’ve been promising December payments to several other affiliates including the ones that run this community for well over a month. I don’t think they are one to care about the housekeeping that CAP requires, nor will it alter any of their promises.

Nevertheless, you can rest assured that any of the CAP moderators or admins will assist in getting everyone paid as we’ve done in the past. I’d give it another 2-4 weeks with these guys to iron some of their issues out.

I haven’t been impressed with VA ever really, so sorry but I don’t feel a loss here.
