    Hello all,

I was asked about online gambling in Japan and was wondering if some of you may know the following:

    1. Are gaming sites blocked in Japan?

    2. Which payment methods can Japanese people use on online gaming sites?

    3. As far as I know, it is illegal to advertise in dot-co.jp websites and/or on websites hosted in Japan; is this correct?

    4. Any recent relevant legistlation?

Sorry if these questions sound lame and I truly appreciate any input that you may have.

Good questions there. I’m just as curious to find out more about online gambling status in Japan.

I did notice that a lot of the bigger online casinos have dedicated Japanese sections on their sites, that Neteller has a specific Japan site, and that there are tons of online casinos specific to the Japanese market such as BigJoy and Lagonda.

    I’m back in Tokyo now
There aren’t any sites at all blocked in Japan.

co.jp can only be bought by a registered corporation in Japan.

.jp is different you can find places to get jps even with an English interface.
Most registrars with English interface with English interfaces are changing 2 to 3 times what Japanese domain registrars are changing, basically because they can.

    Many thanks for the info!

Do you happen to know how Japanese players fund their gaming accounts? Local credit cards? NETeller? other methods?

I just got 3 keywords to rank on Yahoo & am now looking for affiliates to put on the sites.

I believe most local gambling services would offer bank transfers & credit cards.

To tell you the truth I never heard of Neteller till signing up here but my background is Online Marketing in Japan & I’m just looking into casino related things this year.
