Well, reviews are mixed so I am hoping for the better to happen.

For me it was either the Royal Gardens for quality I was familiar with, or this for the best location.

Bedbugs – most of the 5star Hotels in New York and many other places are accused of having them lately.

Seems to be an epidemic. One is supposed to raise the mattress and look underneath for dark specs, especially at the head end, but really anywhere. If you see any, refuse the room. That holds true for ANY Hotel, regardless of rating. Bedbugs hike in suitcases, and anyplace that has frequent travellers is circumspect. I saw a TV program on Travel tips about it and it was shocking. They are nasty things.

Old furniture doesn’t bother me, and all the staff and food reviews were good. And you can’t beat the location, 2 minutes to the tube and 15 minutes from town plus right near CAP events and a hop and a jump from ICE.

I had a personal recommendation for it, especially for the service and care by the staff and the very fresh, constantly tended breakfast bar.

I started to panic when I seen that review then I thought wait they just did a show on 6mins about 5 star hotels having this problem, then I thought wait I know Dom had many contacts and I know she would not stay there if it was not recommended by someone to her, so I am staying there still and hope for the best and like she said, the location is great!:woohoo:

Good thread! Was just going to start one myself.

I’m considering the Chelsea FC hotel purely because it’s Chelsea and I’m sure it’ll be ownage :tounge2:

Not really familiar with any of the other hotels nearby, I’d rather stay with a big name hotel I think. La Reserve is more like a motel than hotel – not my style.

Any other ideas for decent hotels in the area? Pref with parking?

Doesn’t seem there are many ‘chain’ hotels in the area. Chelsea Hotel has quoted me £150 per night and doesn’t have any rooms for the first night unfortunately.

Guys – You may know already but see announcement on the CAP Euro blog

    http://www.capeuro.com/blog/

Don’t worry if you have booked your hotels and can’t get out of them, we have free transport for anyone in the Chelsea FC area to the new location.

Sorry about this – Very very very annoying!

OK booked my room at Hilton Olympia. It seems convenient if the actual conference is there too – and I got a decent rate because I pre-paid. Lets hope there are no more changes :)
