    Hi all,

this is a carry-over from my post asking help from Greek and scraper experts.

I updated my site today because I’m dumping vegas affiliates and cutting back exposure of brightshare and about an hour after I had published …..

I got a notion to go check and see if the scraper site that plagurized me .. had been taken down yet.

To my surprise the damn thing had actually updated to match my site that I just updated.

I’m figuring it must be some kind of progam that apparently runs 24/7 because frankly as much as I’d like to claim my site’s all that and a bag of chips so of course it makes perfect sense this SOB would be sitting at his/her PC standing ready to scrape my site everytime it updates because I’m just so cutting-edge …

    ain’t likely.

the fact that this has happened however is quite frustrating.

In case you missed the first thread and are interested :

here’s the scraper’s url with my site on it.

    http://www.kor.dk/borge/inflate.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bondedcasinos.com&style

    my site address is http://www.bondedcasinos.com

Frankly I don’t see any upside to having done this but since I have found it … I’m going to pursue the matter just out of principal and plus just in case it might also be heading off further troubles.

I’ve emailed to the whois contact info and I guess if don’t get results in a few days I’ll be back in here whining for help.

thanks so much to those that have provided suggestions to address this situation.

… and to those that came in hoping to help but weren’t able (that’s the line i’m usually in) :)

This person is using Victors Borge Inflationary php script. Inflationary english, simply is a method used to manipulate the english language. Here is the link the person used to compromise your site xww.kor.dk/borge/inflate.php.

If you have noticed on the copy version of your site redirect links are watermarked. For example, click on Zodiac casino and the top right margin it states “inflated page”. Also there appears to be watermark of Victor Borge hidden underneath the top banner.

    The url tells it all:

use xww.kor.dk/borge/inflate.php? and grab xww.bondedcasinos.com. What I would try first would be block this script from entering your site. Deny permission to xww.kor.dk , xww.kor.dk/borge/inflate.php. If this fails I would take a good look at the permissions given in your DB or root directory.

Bear in mind this is not Victor Borge doing this. A person is using his work and trying to exploit it. Hence the security feature Victor Borge uses ” the watermark “. The person using the script is a extreme amateur.

I hope this helps a little. If it not fixed in a few days I will follow up.

C’mon guys, this is no scraper. It’s just a script. You can put whatever URL you want in that address and it gets “inflated”.
Take a look at the home page here:

As stated not a scraper but a script grabber or inflator. But it can also be used for other things as well.

What is supposed to be the point of this exercise?

Not sure at this point Dominique. I could quess? perhaps a starting point to learn or just because it is possible? The copied site I highly doubt will get indexed. If it does it won’t last long.

It’s not a “copied site”. There’s no copy on their server, at any time. Any kind of script that merely redirects to the supplied URL will do the same thing.

    Oh look, here’s another one!
    http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.bondedcasinos.com
And, this one doesn’t even alter the text.

    Don’t feel bad bb1.
These days on the internet, if you aren’t paranoid, you’re just naive.
    Carry on!

What do 99.9% of the scrapers use? a script. To brush this issue of as “These days on the internet” is being blind. Since when are sites viewed on the Internet? Don’t you mean the World Wide Web. Perhaps you consider these to be one of the same which they are not.

Perhaps this maybe the weak link in your knowledge.

Thanks, everyone. This has certainly been a lesson for me. I had no clue as to “scrapping” etc., – wow.
