InactiveHey everyone,
I am just sick to death of all the crap about changes in T&C’s lately. I am finally creating a site that I had thought to create some time ago when this was a big issue previously..
I would like everyone’s opinion on the direction of this site and would appreciate any help in funding as well, since I will be spending quite a bit of cash to get this accomplished.
The site is: AffiliateGuardDog.com.
The site will be online as soon as I get the template created and the hosting sorted (already hosted, awaiting name server changes).
Here is the plan for the site:
1. Watch ALL Casino (initially just casino) programs for T&C changes
2. Publication of ALL predatory terms and where they exist
3. Instant notification (to those signed up for it) when any program changes terms and conditions (this can be fed into CAP if Lou wishes)
4. T&C’s will be historically archived on our site. This will allow a user to browse changes made to T&C’s since the beginning of the archive until present time.
5. I will allow the user (member) to store his/her own archive of the current T&C so that they have a place to refer to when they sign up for an aff program. This will allow checking of your T&C’s against current changes.
In the next week or two I will have a site up with a donation link in case anyone wants to help me with the costs. I don’t expect to make any money on the site as signup will be free of charge. I just want a place to find all the changes that are happening. That’s it.
Thanks for listening – hope people are interested.
Andrew

InactiveThis is an excellent idea, kwblue!
I was thinking of building something similar; now I won’t have to.

Thanks Dave – hope you don’t mind my going ahead with this.. I am just a bit sick of all the shit lately and wanted to get the ball rolling. As we had discussed, we both thought about doing this for a while. And – if I didn’t start on it right away – I would let it lapse another 6 months until another aff program retroactively changed (which would then piss me off again).
All ideas welcome!

InactiveI love the idea and will be happy to contribute.
I am VERY disturbed by the latest developments!
Soon lifetime earnings will be wiped out and that makes this industry not worth pursuing IMO.
Too mmuch risk and trouble for too little reward.

InactiveHere is a list of T&C URLs that might be useful when you get down to actually scraping the content. This is not a complete list, and I don’t know if every URL still works (I created the list several months ago).
Also, one thing to keep in mind is that the T&C page doesn’t always contain everything we want to keep track of. Some programs keep their commission percentage information on separate pages (i.e. not on the T&C page), so it would be smart to set up the system so that multiple URLs can be scraped for each affiliate program you track. You might need to scrape a T&C page, a commission page, and an FAQ page, for example.
My list below only contains the T&C URLs — it doesn’t have URLs for commission pages, FAQ pages, etc. Figuring out which programs require multiple scrapes will be a chore… Perhaps everyone can take one or two programs and locate the URLs of each important thing to be tracked (commission percentage, negative carryover, minimum referrals, minimum payment amount, pay-by dates, etc).

InactiveI agre 100%.. That is why I think this needs to get going and quickly. My goal is to have a place where people can go to QUICKLY find out what terms are predatory and which programs offer affiliate-friendly terms.
The more I think about it – the better it sounds. I’m getting excited and I hope to have some sort of template up in the next week or so.

Great idea, Dave. I will make sure that I create the ability to store multiple locations for each program. In fact, I’ll create an indexed table so that I can create unlimited data storage per program.

I’ll have the site set up with a Paypal donation when the template is done. I really appreciate the vote of confidence.
With everyone’s ideas and help, I think this will be a really great thing for all of us.

InactiveHey everyone,
xxhttp://www.AffiliateGuardDog.com
The site is up with a ‘coming soon’ graphic and a paypal donation button. If you wish to donate to the cause I will surely appreciate it. You can feel safe that any and ALL donations will ONLY be used for site creation and improvements.
Currently I only have a Paypal button up – It is much easier to fund my programmers from Paypal
However, you can certainly use Neteller to: [email protected] (If you prefer).
I’ll keep everyone updated on the progress of the site.
Thanks for all your support.

Thank you everyone for the support thus far.
Prof – I will create several secured feeds for CAP when this is ready to rock and roll. I will customize based upon the information you will want to view. When I get this going I’ll fill you in a bit more.
