I am absolutely flabbergasted! What kills me is there were HUNDREDS of posts over there that took the position OVER and OVER that Online Gambling was NOT illegal in the US or for US players and now he dowses all of those players and the casinos which support US players with Napalm!

I think everyone is legally afraid of being the test case, with the flurry of news over the last couple of weeks. Personally, I think the DOJ is licking its chops at the bill being signed, and will be going on a witch-hunt soon. I’m sure it already has its target list in place. Be careful right now, that’s all I can say.
I was sufficiently worried enough to pull all my links, until I see the dust settle and see what’s really up. These bastards have us by the balls right now. I’m just hoping that elections will bring a Democratic Congress, and that will result in some longer-term amendments to this stupid, stupid law.
Man, George Orwell predicted it correctly; only 22 years later – Big Brother is watching. It’s OK for govt to monitor how we spend our money, but we don’t have jack shit control over how they spend our tax dollar. How ironic is that.

I am assuming its similar to some of the banking stuff I already posted here in private.
Peralis you were there in Barcelona. What happened? Did someone stand up and say “They are going to eat the children of anyone found working with US players?”

Yes, banking is the bulk of it for operators, and you were right on target, too.
But I understand that most left the briefings with fear and frustration and the following private conferences didn’t help.
I also understand there are situations that might arise internally with RTG.
Also with Playtech processors.
I really don’t want to post halfcocked, I need to find out proper facts first.
Regarding what Bryan did, this is exactly the action that several lawyers recommended to me.

But here a short one from my perspective for everybody…….
Boils down to the meetings with the lawyers and operators that hit the facts home. All speculation was basically put to bed and the realties of the situatin were presented.
It was simply the most depressing conference I have ever been to and many of us had to make decisions on what to do from here on out. Bryan’s was to drop those casinos for his reasons (Please note that nowhere has he ever said that these casinos are not trustworthy or bad) He has simply decided not to target the US anymore.
Some affiliates sold or are selling, some are dropping the same casinos, some are going about bussiness as usual. However one deals with it is up to them imo.
We will not be changing much of our site except that we are launching various languages soon and slowly the US market will fade to non-existence. Unfortunately.. this is how we see it for now and have to see it if we want to last in the bussiness in the long run. When – and I really believe WHEN – the US are back, it will be counted as a bonus – but we cannot sit here and hope that the earnings will still come believing that this is a short term situation.
It could be short-term.. it could also take until the democrats win again – and even then this will not be a priority bill for them to change immediately.It is a sad time and a sad thing that this has happened – but we HAVE to deal with it and move on. This is not going to be turned over .. and if it does.. I will be the first one opening the beers – but one has to move on thinking it won’t – otherwise you are wasting your own time and money and oppertunities to hang in for the long haul.
