    Thanks War

Here’s a link to a map of the area showing both Earls Ct. (where ICE is) and Stamford Bridge (CAPeuro location) where Chelsea reside (and the Chelsea hotel – http://www.thehotelatchelsea.com/)

    http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=525750&y=177750&z=1&sv=525750,177750&st=4&ar=N&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

Another very good hotel is situated just of the top of the map in South Kensington (nicer area than Earls Court by the way, though Chelsea itself is upmarket) called the “Royal Garden Hotel” (http://www.royalgardenhotel.co.uk/). Here’s the map:

As an Arsenal fan, I’d urge you not to stay at the Chelsea hotel and add to their coffers for new players please ;) If I find Sarafina or TheGooner staying there, I’ll be most put out :1Dialog: NB: For the 32Red team, “Chelsea” are a Premiership football club in case you were wondering – It’s not Leeds, nor Swindon, not even Wolverhampton Wanderers, but I think you’ll be impressed how the other half live ;)

For those flying in to Heathrow, get the Tube from there (http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/travel/downloads/tube_map.html – bottom left hand side) and the Piccadilly line – in blue – takes you right to South Kensington which is about 300 yards from the Royal Garden Hotel if memory serves me right. (Out the tube turn left, then left again, end of the road on the left – from memory so check!).

    Cheers

    Simmo!

    Hey Simmo!

If CAP makes the Chelsea Football Club the official hotel – then I’d be happy to stay there (and take all the towels) …

Otherwise I’ll probably find a nice wee place in Notting Hill using one of the smaller travel search engines. I was there in June for a break during the World Cup.

Got a 6 day stay for just GBP 300 – which seemed a great price for a good location. Close to restuarants, pubs, Hyde Park pubs, and the tube … and pubs …

You don’t happen to remember the name of the hotel?-)

If anybody has tips on how to find cheap (I hate to pay much for a hotel room – I’m not spending much time there anyway…) single room in London, I’d very much like to hear them. Last time I was in London was 15 years ago, it seems the room prices have gone up a bit since them :turn:

Best thing I can do is point you at http://www.wotif.com

They cover “last minute” deals on Hotel’s – and allow you to book up to 28 days prior at a pretty good rate.

(and no I’m not an affiliate – I just have used their service twice successfully)
    :hehe:

Wotif seems like a great site, thanks! Actually it looks so good I’d be more than happy to click an affiliate link to get there

Anybody else having problems using the capeuro.com registration form? All I can get out of the system is page saying “duplicate entry ‘127’ for key 1”.

    opps.

Sounds like someone has an INT field on auto-increment as keyed field and didn’t expect more than 127 responses …
    :eh:

Prof – get those programmers to enlarge the field or define the INT as unsigned (which will allow another 128 entries).
